Zaiyilo did not even turn his head, letting Haro stand by the cell door.
Bai Zhu, however, gave Haro an extra glance.
This man had been indifferent to Piyu just moments ago, but the instant the Raw Material Zone was mentioned, he completely changed. More strangely, Zaiyilo had spread out the map right in front of him, seemingly unconcerned that he would learn the entrance's location.
Bai Zhu walked to the cell door and stopped half a step away.
"What did you see in the Raw Material Zone?"
Haro pressed down on the cloth band around his wrist and did not respond.
"The mother liquor? The first batch of experimental records? Or something that came out of the Black Gate?"
With every item Bai Zhu mentioned, Haro's fingers tightened a little more. By the time he mentioned the Black Gate, the strip of cloth had already bitten into the fungal mass.
There was a reaction.
"So you really have been there."
Haro raised his hand, rewound the cloth band, then turned and walked back into the isolation room. He sat on the edge of the bed with his back against the stone wall, no longer even looking toward the cell door.
"Are you done asking?"
His voice was somewhat dry.
Bai Zhu tapped the bars.
"Not yet."
Haro closed his eyes and said nothing more.
The investigators in the neighboring cells exchanged looks and retreated into their own isolation rooms as well. A short-haired woman reached out and pulled the bars shut. Iron wheels rolled along the track with a scraping sound.
Piyu opened the missing persons list.
"Loer."
The short-haired woman lowered her head and arranged the clothes beside the bed.
"Magis."
The man against the wall turned his face inward.
"Bevin, your daughter is still waiting for news
