She joins Ging’s expedition toward the Lakeheart Oasis and Black Tower as the team’s specialist in locating writing and interpreting inscriptions. After the Chimera Ruins operation, she returns to Hunter Association headquarters with the materials recovered from the investigation 313. However, her humor does not prevent her from recognizing danger quickly or taking responsibility when others are vulnerable 184 205 281.

Piyu is also principled. She refuses to abandon missing investigators in NGL, arguing that Hunters cannot retreat every time their work becomes dangerous 342. When Unma attempts to exploit Bai Zhu while he is unconscious, Piyu intervenes immediately, preserves evidence, and forces the royal family to face the consequences 281 283.

Her concern for others often takes a commanding, practical form. During the Specialist Association ambush, she is repeatedly protected by Bai Zhu’s Dankū but remains intent on preserving her footage and research 200.

Before reaching the Oasis, she warns Bai Zhu not to remove the resonating Tail Feather because it may function as a key. She also researches the One-Eyed Giant Bird’s place in Mingbo folklore, although she cannot see the black bird Bai Zhu encounters outside the airship 175 176.

At the Outer Ring, she and Satotz examine the ruins’ layered writing and document the mural of a figure standing on a One-Eyed Owl 198. During the later arena battle, she takes Satotz to cover and bandages his arm; both become targets of a point-blank teleportation snipe that Ging disrupts 218.

Kakin Royal Family Investigation

Using her Hunter Association and media identities, Piyu investigates Kakin’s marine engineering, charitable organizations, and royal research projects 252 253. She helps prepare Bai Zhu for social infiltration, manages aspects of his contract negotiations, and safeguards the agreement against Foundation interference 254 261.

She gathers intelligence on Camilla before accompanying Bai Zhu, Ging, and Milluki to their meeting at an abandoned Church. During the encounter, Ging reveals that Piyu submitted Bai Zhu’s application for another Hunter star 244.

Before Bai Zhu enters the experimental zone, Piyu oversees his formal presentation, places a tracking chip in his shoe, and tells him to study the facility’s vehicles, paintings, and personnel 265.

Unma’s Betrayal and the Husk Disaster

After Bai Zhu defeats Slender Hound and collapses, Piyu catches Unma trying to extract his blood. She destroys the collection equipment, records the evidence, and carries Bai Zhu out of the facility 281. During the subsequent Husk outbreak, she protects the powerless Bai Zhu, challenges the military blockade, and helps establish a joint Hunter Association–military quarantine zone 282 283.

As the crisis expands toward the harbor, she cooperates with Bai Zhu’s plan to seek the Gatekeeper and reach the Chimera Ruins 284. She destroys an attacking waterspout while helping him evade the golden entity’s copied water attacks 285. Morel and Shuto later catch up with them, prompting an argument over their premature departure 286.

Chimera Ruins and Hecatos

Piyu reveals herself as an Enhancement-type fighter while helping Bai Zhu and Milluki reach the Chimera Ruins beneath the Caspian Sea 292. She recognizes Hecatos’s fear-based psychological attacks, shields Milluki from its crows, and remains outside the Stone Gate to support containment efforts 293 294.

While monitoring the battle from outside, she notices the Gatekeeper’s transformation and warns Ging about the inscription appearing in its eye 301. After the operation and harbor cleanup, she returns to headquarters with the Chimera Ruins materials 313.

NGL and the Creation Society

Piyu refuses to withdraw from the NGL investigation despite the danger to missing Association investigators 342. She restrains Bai Zhu’s urge for immediate revenge against the Silver Candle Envoy, supports Palm’s surveillance of the fortress, and leads the pursuit of the Golden Candle Envoy and the Black Box 351 355.

Her responsibilities include protecting the missing investigators and documenting the suspicious villages. She helps capture and question sentries, examines the villages’ lack of women and children, and records D1 distribution 333 334 337 340. At Zaiyilo’s facilities, she disputes the validity of drug-influenced consent and attempts to persuade the investigators to leave by invoking their waiting families. Carnival and the Missing Test Subject

After Bai Zhu and Milluki interrogate Pix, Bai Zhu contacts Piyu to report the abdomen-mouth that developed after he ate an unlisted Carnival stew. Piyu connects the case with an anonymous tip she received aboard an airship after the group separated 384.

The tip claimed that surviving Creation Society members were searching for a young man with a special bloodline. Piyu suspects that the actual searchers may be the Kakin royal family, broadening the investigation beyond isolated surviving cultists to possible royal involvement in the escaped experimental subjects 384.
