Camilla's voice carried a deliberately manufactured sense of urgency. She was certain that no one would want to see a thriving tourist city turned into a living hell.
Milluki's response, however, completely exceeded her expectations.
"Oh, a disaster."
He slowly withdrew the fingers pressed against the back of Camilla's heart, then paced back to his terminal and sat down again. From beginning to end, he did not look at her once.
"Camilla, you seem to have forgotten something." Milluki turned his back to her and watched the images on the screen, a trace of disdain on his face. "My surname is Zoldyck."
He paused, as if he felt it necessary to explain more clearly.
"Do you really think I'd care what happens to a city?"
Camilla's breath caught sharply. At that moment, Milluki's chubby figure seemed to possess a hint of grandeur.
"As for those experimental subjects you mentioned, so what? I have quite a few 'Rose' bombs. A minor nuisance of this scale can be dealt with by dropping a few of them. It's hardly a big deal."
When Milluki casually spoke of dropping Rose bombs on a prosperous port city, Camilla felt as if all the blood in her body had nearly frozen. The pressure that made her soul tremble weighed on her chest, leaving her struggling to breathe.
