Bai Zhu walked out of the station with his sword in hand, and Kik Port's sea breeze slapped him right in the face.

He stood by the roadside, took a deep breath of salty air, and stretched.

"Nice."

No cult stench.

No Black Crystal stench.

No Milluki panting beside him while hauling a speaker.

This was how people were meant to live.

He followed the crowd toward the harbor.

The roadside was full of travelers dragging luggage and old fishermen carrying crates of fish. The harbor announcements repeated the routes over and over, making his head throb.

But compared to a hellhole like an underground altar, this little bit of noise felt almost comforting.

After putting away his sword, Bai Zhu entered the ticket hall, scanned the room, and headed straight for the information desk.

"Excuse me, when will the ferry from Dolle Harbor arrive?"

The employee flipped through the route schedule.

"Dolle Harbor? The routes were recently adjusted. That ferry is expected to dock in another half month."

"Half a month?"

Bai Zhu froze.

Lippo's note had said to set out early.

How had this route adjustment created a half-month gap?

The employee looked up at him.

"Are you here for the Hunter Exam too?"

"More or less."

"Then register first. Once the exam ship arrives, you can board with your certificate."

"Alright."

A form was pushed over to him.

"Name."

"Bai Zhu."

"Age."

"Seventeen."

The employee's hands paused over the keyboard.

Bai Zhu looked at him.

"What, I don't look it?"

"No."

The employee lowered his head and continued entering the information, quickly pushing over a waiting certificate.

"Keep it safe. Losing it will be a huge hassle."

Bai Zhu took the certificate.

"Thanks."

The moment he turned around, a system panel popped up in his vision.
