Nami knew she had caused trouble, but Luffy would have learned about these things sooner or later.

"His mind is on the verge of collapse. If we're not careful, he could become an idiot or a vegetable." Ivankov looked grim. He had not expected Luffy's mental endurance to be so weak, completely unaware that he was speaking from a position of privilege.
