You Must Become King

In the back garden of God's Island, Gion sat in a pavilion with Little Maple in her arms, gazing at the horizon with an uneasy heart.

Even now, her heart still ached faintly. She kept feeling as though something important had left her.

Sakura had already been in Mary Geoise for a day. Although news from the front said that Heaven Kingdom had won, Gion could not feel happy at all.

And for some reason, Little Maple in her arms had been wailing nonstop.

"Waa... waa..."

"Be good... Mommy's here. Don't cry, don't cry."

Gion gently rocked Little Maple, comforting him.

"Let me hold him!"

A voice came from behind her. Ye Chen stood outside the pavilion, smiling as he opened his arms.

"You're finally back. I thought..."

Her eyes reddened, and Gion rushed out of the pavilion with Little Maple in her arms, throwing herself straight into Ye Chen's embrace.

"I'm sorry."

Ye Chen held Gion in both arms, his expression somewhat unnatural.

"Look, Little Maple stopped crying."

Ye Chen wiped away Gion's tears and lowered his head to look at Little Maple, who had fallen asleep.

"He cried nonstop all day, but the moment you came back, he stopped. Little traitor."

Gion was still shedding tears, but a smile appeared on her face.

"You'll have to worry about him from now on."

Ye Chen gently took Little Maple into his arms. His eyes were filled with tenderness as he lifted his head and looked apologetically at Gion.

Tears poured down Gion's face. She clutched the hem of her dress with both hands, refusing to let herself cry out loud.

"There must be a way. There has to be..."

Her emotions collapsed, but hope still lingered in Gion's eyes.
