Background / History

Sanji serves as the Straw Hat Pirates’ cook and is responsible for feeding the crew despite Luffy’s enormous appetite. He is also a highly capable close-range fighter whose primary combat style relies on powerful kicks rather than weapons. 19 224 228

During the Alabasta conflict, Sanji attacked Li Ziming to protect Vivi. Li overwhelmed him with explosive techniques but deliberately avoided seriously injuring him; Sanji later recognized that he had only been knocked unconscious by the shockwave. 19

At Enies Lobby, Sanji fought the CP9 assassin Jabra. Jabra’s lies and insults toward Robin pushed Sanji to reveal Diable Jambe, whose heat and speed bypassed Jabra’s Tekkai. Sanji defeated him with Flambage Shot. 54

During the two-year separation, Sanji developed further aerial movement and combat techniques. After the crew reunited, he used Sky Walk and Hell’s Iron Fist: Spectrum against the New Fish-Man Pirates. 130

Personality

Sanji is fiercely protective of his companions, particularly when women are threatened. He attacked Li Ziming after seeing him confront Vivi and later fought Jabra because Jabra insulted Robin and questioned Li Ziming’s loyalty to her. 19 54

He is intelligent and alert in combat, quickly recognizing Jabra’s deception and refusing to fall for his false offers of surrender. Sanji’s pride can also make him reckless, especially when someone insults his companions or challenges his sense of chivalry. 54
