"Straight to Level Six?" Rogge asked Magellan beside him.

"That's right. The important prisoners are all on Level Six. It seems you know it exists," Magellan said, looking at Rogge.

"Did you think we wouldn't? The claim that Impel Down has only five levels only fools ordinary people," Rogge said with a smile.

The five-level story might fool people who only read the papers, but Rogge and others with access to different circles knew better.

Impel Down extended thousands of meters beneath the sea. Each level was practically a world of its own: Level One, Crimson Hell; Level Two, Beast Hell; Level Three, Starvation Hell; Level Four, Blazing Hell; Level Five, Frozen Hell; and Level Six, Infinite Hell. Each had its own horrors.

The lift took them straight down to Level Six, the last level. Bullet and Byrnndi World were imprisoned here. Everyone held here was a notorious criminal with blood on their hands.

The place was dim and lifeless. Escape was almost impossible. Only one person had ever made it out: the legendary pirate Golden Lion Shiki.

"Are all the prisoners here dead? I can't hear a thing," Rogge said in surprise.

His voice echoed through the vast, silent space. Someone noticed him, and hands began reaching out from the cells.

"Who's out there? A guard? You bastard, bring me something to eat!"

"I want women! Lock some women up in here!"

"I want meat! Human flesh tastes sour. Give me meat—Sea King meat!"

Some prisoners still had plenty of energy, clearly having arrived not long ago. Those who had been held here for years had no strength left to shout. Time would teach the newcomers what Impel Down was: a place without hope.
