"The thing is on me. Kaido, how about joining forces? We can reach Laugh Tale together," Rogge said, suddenly stopping.
Taking on two of the Four Emperors alone was too difficult. Rogge could not hold out much longer.
Kaido stopped attacking and looked at Rogge. The hesitation in his eyes suggested he was already considering it.
"There can only be one Pirate King," Red-Hair suddenly said.
"You're overthinking it, Red-Hair. Pirate King? That's nothing but a joke, a way to belittle him. The so-called Pirate King was just an unflattering name the World Government slapped on Roger to hide certain things. The king of pirates is still a pirate in the end, isn't he?" Rogge sneered.
After Roger reached Laugh Tale, the World Government erased the D from his name and called him the Pirate King.
How many people would believe a pirate's words? The World Government had worked out every detail of its scheme.
Roger was clever, too. After leaving Laugh Tale, he immediately disbanded his crew, making his message to the world clear: I may know the truth, but I haven't revealed it or used it to stir anything up.
Disbanding his crew to protect his subordinates was a wise move. By scattering them, Roger made it much harder for the World Government to target him. After all, they were also afraid he might cause trouble.
The title of Pirate King was also meant to draw fire. Roger had everything, so killing him would let someone claim it all.
The World Government's calculations were meticulous. Otherwise, how could they have known Roger had reached Laugh Tale before his crew had even come back out?
Surely Red-Hair and the World Government had played their part in that. Otherwise, who could have spread word that the Roger Pirates had reached
