Rogge naturally had no intention of letting him off. So, just as he raised his hand to strike King down and kill him—

A headbutt came flying in, sending King crashing away.
King rolled several times across the ground, blood dripping from beneath his mask.
"Bastard, what the hell are you doing?" Queen roared at King.
"Queen, you..." King stared at Queen, only to meet his utterly serious gaze.
"Isn't it better to stay alive? Why are you trying to get yourself killed? Why did we join the Beasts Pirates in the first place? Have you forgotten?" Queen berated King.
King froze, staring blankly at Queen. It was as if time had returned to the beginning.
King's entire race had been slaughtered. The people on his island had been wiped out by the Marines and the World Government, erased from the world. King had been only a child and knew nothing. However, he had eaten the Zoan Ancient Zoan Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Pteranodon, and had consequently been taken to Impel Down.
He had been trained to become a prison guard. Step by step, King rose to become one of Impel Down's upper-level officials. Back then, his status in Impel Down had been even higher than Magellan's.
However, the higher King's position rose, the more he came into contact with. Eventually, he learned about his race from the prisoners. Thus, he left Impel Down and joined the Beasts Pirates.
Before joining the Beasts Pirates, though, he met Queen. It was because of Queen that he learned about a man named Kaido.
Queen told King that, because he liked researching plague viruses, he wanted to find a lawless pirate.
