Mangekyō Sharingan

After fighting Itachi Uchiha and Obito Uchiha in turn and forcing those two butchers away, it did not mean the incident was over.

The commotion had been too great.

The Uchiha civilians were wailing as people fled in every direction. Quite a few masked ANBU agents were also darting about everywhere.

Before anyone noticed him, Naruto quickly slipped away and followed the trail of Sasuke's escape.

"Lord Danzo has ordered that since Itachi Uchiha failed to complete the plan, there is no need to spare him or his younger brother."

"If you encounter Itachi Uchiha or Sasuke Uchiha, execute them on the spot!"

The Root ninjas searched all the way through the area, frantically looking for Itachi Uchiha and the Sasuke Uchiha he cared about most.

Meanwhile, Sasuke Uchiha had no idea that danger was already closing in.

Images kept flashing through his mind: his father being cut down by his brother, his brother's fist smashing toward him, and the killing intent radiating from his brother's body.

He ran and ran desperately, praying that his brother would not catch up to him.

He did not understand why his brother, who had always been so gentle and doted on him so much, had become like this.

He only knew that he did not want to die!

Yet this world was always full of things that went against one's wishes. Sasuke Uchiha did not encounter his brother, but while fleeing, he ran straight into two masked Root agents.

They wore the same clothes as his brother. The instant they saw Sasuke, they drew their blades.

Killing intent soared into the sky.

The sight frightened Sasuke so badly that his entire body went limp.

Naruto Uzumaki, who suddenly appeared.

The massive flames that suddenly appeared instantly swallowed the two Root ninjas. After their screams rang out, Naruto pulled kunai from his ninja tool pouch and mercilessly ended their lives.

Naruto spat, then looked at the unconscious Sasuke Uchiha and could not help complaining, "As expected of the legendary king of endurance. Even after all this, he only awakened Three Tomoe."

Looking at himself again, he was now covered in a thick Tailed Beast cloak, with a single tail behind him.

Only after doing all that did he grin and pick up Sasuke, compose his expression, and wait where he stood.

Elsewhere.

Hiruzen Sarutobi and his group, who had rushed over from outside Naruto's home, had entered the Uchiha Clan compound. They first arrived at the Konoha Military Police Force headquarters, where they saw corpses scattered everywhere and eyes that had been gouged out.

As well as Root ninjas who had happened to arrive there.

Everyone fell into silent fury.

Using his authority as Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi immediately ordered Kakashi, Uzuki Yugao, and the other ANBU agents to detain all the Root members. He then led the others toward the home of the Uchiha Clan's head, Fugaku Uchiha.

The result was obvious. All they found was a corpse that still retained some warmth.

"How could this happen?" Shikaku Nara was utterly stunned.

Inoichi Yamanaka and Choza Akimichi did not look much better either.

Everyone present, including Tsume Inuzuka, had worked with Fugaku Uchiha to some extent during the Third Shinobi World War.

Fugaku Uchiha had not died on the battlefield back then.

Yet now that peace had come, they were seeing Fugaku Uchiha's corpse lying before their very eyes.

Hiruzen Sarutobi took a deep breath and looked at Mikoto Uchiha beside him. Her mind had completely shut down, and her gaze was vacant. He did not know what he could say to comfort her.

All he could say was, "I will handle this matter properly."

However, before their emotions could settle, a powerful and evil chakra suddenly erupted not far away.

It instantly drew all their attention.

"The Nine-Tails' chakra. It's Naruto!"

Upon hearing Tsume Inuzuka's words, the dazed Mikoto Uchiha was the first to rush out the door, sprinting madly toward where the chakra had erupted.

The others immediately rushed out after her.

When they reached the location, the first thing they saw was a blond boy covered in blood and grime, his entire body wrapped in evil chakra. He was unsteadily carrying a black-haired boy forward, one step at a time.

When he saw them, relief finally appeared on Naruto Uzumaki's grave face.

Crystal-clear tears then fell from his eyes and rolled down his cheeks.

"I'm sorry, Mom Mikoto. I only managed to save Sasuke. I couldn't protect Uncle Fugaku."

After saying that, Naruto seemed to lose all his strength and collapsed straight toward the ground.

The next second.

He landed securely in a soft embrace.

"That bastard Danzo!"

Seeing the corpses of the Root ninjas behind them, Hiruzen Sarutobi was completely enraged. Danzo had not only acted against the Uchiha without his permission.

He had even dared to attack Naruto.

Did Danzo have any respect left for him as the Hokage?

"Mikoto, hurry and take Naruto and Sasuke to the hospital. Leave everything else to me."
