Xiao He's punching force was around nine hundred kilograms, higher than the current Guinness World Records for ordinary people. A kick packed even more force than a punch; in other words, the impact of that kick exceeded one ton. A car's bumper was meant to absorb external impact, so the force of Xiao He's kick was borne by the entire vehicle.
The Bentley immediately flew out of control. After traveling some distance, it began swerving wildly, then crashed into the roadside guardrail. It scraped along it for over ten meters before stopping. Repairs would probably cost well over a hundred thousand.
Of course, Xiao He knew that amount might mean nothing to the owner, but he felt much better anyway.
"Phew, phew, phew..." Xiao He whistled as he rode his bike past the Bentley at an unhurried pace.
He wasn't worried, because the kick he had delivered was in the driver's blind spot. The rearview mirror could only show Xiao He standing behind the car, not what he had done. Besides, the kick had merely left a dent in the bumper rather than a footprint. There were no surveillance cameras around either, so there was no evidence.
The driver had probably chosen this secluded, camera-free spot precisely because he thought he could get away with it. He had only trapped himself in his own cocoon.
The driver got out of the car, rubbing his head as he inspected the rear of his vehicle in confusion.
"Her eyelashes, the curve of her lips, she smiled at me without warning. No sign, no forewarning, yet she unexpectedly made the first move..." Xiao He happily hummed as he rode his beat-up bicycle home.
After playing games at home for a while, Xiao He timed things carefully and went to pick Ye Wanqing up outside her classroom. Ye Wanqing said goodbye to the students in her department, then climbed onto the back seat of Xiao He's bicycle.
"So, how's college life now that you have a boyfriend?" Xiao He teased.
"Actually, it's been surprisingly nice." Ye Wanqing said indifferently. "Those guys have been much more restrained. I should've brought you here sooner."
"Is that so..." Xiao He immediately deflated. He had hoped Ye Wanqing would at least understand some of his suffering, but it looked like she was not only not suffering at all—she was actually rather happy.
"Yeah." Ye Wanqing replied cheerfully. "Before, those guys were completely transparent: This girl has huge boobs. I need to figure out how to win her over, then grope them to my heart's content."
"Don't you think you're a little too sensitive about the whole breast thing...?" Xiao He asked with a frown.
"If you had the power to read minds, you'd realize I'm right." Ye Wanqing snorted.
After a moment of silence, Ye Wanqing asked, "Are you planning to keep riding me to school like this every day?"
"I'm planning to take you until your knee heals." Xiao He replied absentmindedly. "Do you want me to keep taking you afterward too?"
"I think that'd be fine." Ye Wanqing sounded lazy. "It saves time and effort, and it lets everyone see that we're a couple. Isn't that convenient? Besides, you already bought the bike. Otherwise, it'll just sit at home anyway."
"I can only say... I'll try." Xiao He mumbled awkwardly. "Our class schedules aren't the same, and sometimes I want to slack off too."
"Mm." Ye Wanqing merely answered, then said nothing more.
The two returned home right around lunchtime and found Cui Man there.
"Your lunch." Cui Man handed them two boxes of green food, then gave Ye Wanqing a bottle of medicine. "Golden Wound Spray."
Xiao He checked his lunch. It wasn't all vegetables, actually. There was quite a bit of meat too, though it was only a few pieces of chicken breast and steak, some shredded tuna, mashed potatoes, and various vegetables.
"Spray it twice a day. The scab should start coming off in about three days." Cui Man reminded Ye Wanqing.
"Mm..." Ye Wanqing responded, and Cui Man continued, "Once your foot heals, you'll need to start exercising right away, okay?"
"Got it." Ye Wanqing obediently replied. Cui Man curiously examined Ye Wanqing, then looked at Xiao He and suddenly asked, "Did you two really start dating?"
"Why do you ask?" Xiao He looked at Cui Man in confusion. Cui Man shrugged. "It just feels like you two aren't as hostile toward each other as before. Did something happen these past two days? Did he sneak into your room at night?"
"We reconciled." Xiao He said with his arms crossed. "If we kept acting like that, people would see through us the moment we went out."
"More or less." Ye Wanqing muttered, fiddling with her fingers. Cui Man looked at her with interest, then gave Xiao He an appraising glance and smiled in satisfaction. "All right, then I won't disturb you lovebirds. I'll come back at dinnertime."
After seeing Cui Man off, Xiao He began eating his lunch.
"To be fair, it doesn't taste bad." Ye Wanqing said as she ate her diet meal.
"If you want, I'll give you mine too..." Xiao He muttered gloomily. "What joy is there left in life if you have to eat this stuff?"
"I think it's fine. Someone's helping me lose weight and even paying me for it." Ye Wanqing said unconcernedly. "You'd better not get any sneaky ideas about having extra meals, okay? Don't forget, there are cameras all over the house."
"I know... That's why I'm so depressed." Xiao He looked utterly lifeless.
Now, Xiao He could only pray that this training would not help his ability. His power allowed him to improve to the point where he could defeat Lin Tiannan. What level he could reach was actually related to Lin Tiannan, and it was still uncertain whether it had anything to do with Xiao He's own abilities. But he hoped it did not, so he would not have to work so hard at training.
Although his relationship with Ye Wanqing had eased, their cohabitation had not changed at all. That afternoon, Xiao He returned after class, humming as he changed his shoes.
"Looking awfully pleased with yourself..." Ye Wanqing rolled her eyes at him. "You must've had a nice chat with your goddess, huh?"
"Oh, it wasn't that big a deal. We just talked about anime and movies." Xiao He replied with a smile.
Yet when you talk to me, you can barely get a few words out. Ye Wanqing grumbled inwardly, then limped into the room.
"Is the Golden Wound Spray working?" Xiao He asked curiously. "I'll disinfect it again later."
"It's okay." Ye Wanqing replied. "After I sprayed it, the wound started feeling hot and itchy. It's probably healing. The effect is surprisingly good, so there's probably no need to disinfect it again."
"All right, then." Xiao He nodded and prepared to go to the kitchen to wash his hands.
The moment he entered the kitchen, he saw an exceptionally terrifying creature. His entire body jolted, his scalp went numb, goosebumps rose along the back of his neck, and he fled back to the living room at top speed.
"Wanqing, kitchen, kitchen!" Xiao He pointed behind him in terror.
Ye Wanqing gave him a puzzled look, then limped after him into the kitchen. Near the trash bag beside the sink, a cockroach about five centimeters long was crawling around on the bag.
Ye Wanqing turned expressionlessly to look at Xiao He. After a moment of silence, she asked, "Are you serious?"
"Every hero has a weakness, okay?!" Xiao He said fearfully. "Cockroaches are to me what Kryptonite is to Superman!"
"I don't think those things are related, do you?" Ye Wanqing frowned in displeasure.
