Background / History

The System activates for Lu Shaolin after he handles the zombie responsible for his father’s death, granting him two Source Points. Its panel indicates that points can be spent to improve recorded martial skills and cultivation arts. Lu initially infers that killing demons or monsters and touching their corpses is the means of obtaining more. 2

Source Points become the foundation of Lu’s cultivation strategy. They can instantly supply martial knowledge and reshape his body, but every upgrade consumes enormous physical energy, making food, medicinal resources, and later heavenly treasures necessary for safe advancement. 3 17 314

After Lu accumulates points by collecting large numbers of Walking Corpse bodies, the System announces a twelve-hour automatic update due to a “bug.” A later update unlocks the fusion function, allowing compatible techniques to be combined into higher-grade arts. 35 73

Technique Fusion

System Storage Space

The System offers a storage function after Lu accumulates 85,188 points from Skeleton hunting. Unlocking it costs 50,000 points. 228

Limitations

• Insufficient points — A gray upgrade symbol indicates that the current balance cannot support the advancement. 14 72
• Missing manuals — The System cannot derive unlearned later portions of a cultivation method; Reckless Bull Force cannot advance beyond its available text. 21
• Physical energy cost — Upgrades create extreme hunger and may cause pain or bodily collapse if Lu lacks sufficient food or resources. 3 17 28
• Resource requirements — Major body-strengthening breakthroughs require heavenly treasures in addition to Source Points, or Lu’s body may not withstand the transformation. 314
