The three changed their names
"Grandmaster." Dai Mubai looked up at him, his voice clear and gentle, completely different from his previous rough voice, "You call this 'class'?"
"Two levels higher," Yu Xiaogang changed his tune without batting an eye, "Your face is more than twice as good-looking as before."
Dai Mubai slammed the bowl down on the table, using a bit too much force, causing two drops of porridge to splash onto the table.
"I'm a man," Dai Mubai said through gritted teeth, but his voice was so soft it sounded like he was pleading, which startled even himself.
"I know you're a man." Yu Xiaogang pushed up his glasses. "I didn't ask you to be a woman. The body tempering process adjusts fat distribution and skin condition; this is a normal reaction. Has your Soul Power increased?"
Dai Mubai's lips moved, but he remained silent.
His Soul Power has indeed increased.
After breaking through to level 40, Zhao Wuji helped them obtain their fourth Soul Ring.
"It does have an effect." Dai Mubai calmed down, looked down at his hands, his fingers long and slender, his nails pinkish. He clenched his fist. "It's just that the side effects are a bit hard to accept."
"You'll get used to it," Yu Xiaogang said.
"I can't get used to it," Dai Mubai said.
You'll get used to it eventually.
"Grandmaster, if I go out like this, people will think Shrek has started accepting female students," Oscar muttered softly.
"Then just say you're a female student," Ma Hongjun interjected casually.
Dai Mubai and Oscar both turned to stare at him.
Ma Hongjun's hand, holding the bowl, stiffened slightly as he was stared at by those two gazes.
"Hongjun," Dai Mubai spoke, his voice softening, but the chill in his tone remained undiminished, "You seem to be adapting quite well."
"Adapt to what?" Ma Hongjun chuckled dryly.
"With your current outfit, if people call you 'girl' when you go out, you won't get angry."
"Don't be angry." Ma Hongjun patted his chest, making the area jiggle twice. "Being good-looking isn't a bad thing. Look at me, how fat I used to be, how good-looking I am now, and I even have two extra breasts, I've gained something."
Dai Mubai and Oscar put down their bowls at the same time.
"Don't look at me like that." Ma Hongjun shrank back a little. "We practiced together, we share the good times and the bad."
"Did you secretly practice the fourth level yesterday?" Dai Mubai asked.
Ma Hongjun's expression froze for a moment.
"No."
"Your breasts are bigger than mine and Oscar's."
"That's exceptional talent."
"You're talking nonsense," Oscar chimed in from the side. "Yesterday you said you were screaming in pain when you were doing the third level, so we only followed along. Today your chest is bigger than all of ours, you must have secretly worked on lower levels."
Ma Hongjun moved his stool back a little while holding the bowl.
Dai Mubai stood up, took a few steps, walked around behind Ma Hongjun, and placed a hand on his shoulder.
Ma Hongjun froze.
"Hongjun," Dai Mubai leaned down, his voice soft, "What's the effect of the fourth level? Tell me honestly, and I won't pursue the matter further."
Ma Hongjun swallowed.
"The fourth floor... the breasts will be a little bigger, the waist will be a little thinner, and also..."
"What else?"
"Also, there will be some changes below." Ma Hongjun's voice was so soft it was almost inaudible.
Dai Mubai tightened his grip on his shoulder.
What changes?
"It will... it will be a little smaller."
Dai Mubai fell silent.
Oscar's hand, holding the bowl, was trembling slightly.
Flender and Zhao Wuji stood at the entrance of the cafeteria, exchanged a glance, sighed helplessly, and then silently left.
After a moment's thought, Ma Hongjun said, "Given our current state, shouldn't we change our name?"
Upon hearing this, Dai Mubai and Oscar thought for a moment and nodded in agreement.
Ma Hongjun said with a smile, "Then I'll be called Ma Xiaohong from now on."
Dai Mubai and Oscar stared at Ma Hongjun's beaming face, remaining silent for a full five breaths.
"Ma Xiaohong." Dai Mubai read the name aloud, his voice softer than before, but the gritted teeth remained undiminished. "You've even thought of a name."
"I thought it through in advance," Ma Hongjun said matter-of-factly. "I'm always a person who plans things out."
Oscar put down his bowl beside him, his soft voice carrying a resigned calm. "So what's my name? Ao Xiaoka."
"Ao Xiaoka. doesn't sound good." Ma Hongjun shook his head, thinking seriously. "Your name is Oscar, with 'Card' in it, so 'Ao Xiaoka.'... no, that's too perfunctory."
"Then get me one."
Ma Hongjun looked Oscar up and down. "You're quite pretty now, with fair skin and a soft voice. How about calling you Ao Xiaoya?"
Oscar's lips twitched slightly. "Ao Xiaoya?"
"How beautiful and elegant it is!"
"I'm a grown man named Ao Xiaoya?"
"Looking at you now, who can tell you're a grown man?" Ma Hongjun pointed to his chest.
Oscar glanced down and swallowed the rest of his words.
Dai Mubai sat beside him, holding a bowl, his expression shifting between anger, humiliation, and a subtle resignation.
"And what about me?" Dai Mubai asked.
Ma Hongjun sized him up. "Boss Dai, your name is Dai Xiaomu, right?"
Why am I Xiao Mu?
"Because you look like a mushroom right now."
Dai Mubai slammed the bowl down on the table, using a bit too much force, causing two drops of porridge to spill out.
"Dai Xiaomu." Oscar read it aloud from the side, then suddenly found it a little funny, and the corners of his mouth involuntarily curved into a smile.
"What are you laughing at?" Dai Mubai turned to look at him.
"I wasn't laughing." Oscar turned his face away, his shoulders trembling slightly.
Ma Hongjun pressed his advantage. "Alright, alright, the names are decided. From now on, the three of us will use these new names when we're out in public. Ma Xiaohong, Ao Xiaoya, Dai Xiaomu —it sounds like three sisters."
"The three sisters?" Dai Mubai's voice rose a few decibels.
"Three brothers, three brothers." Ma Hongjun quickly corrected himself, "Slip of the tongue."
Dai Mubai took a deep breath, exhaled, and took another deep breath, repeating this three times before he could calm himself down.
"Ma Xiaohong," Dai Mubai called to him.
"Exist."
"Did you even practice the fourth level?"
Ma Hongjun's expression froze for a moment, and his hand holding the bowl unconsciously tightened.
"I practiced a little bit."
"How much is 'a little bit'?"
"It was just... transported once."
"Your chest got this big after just one workout?" Dai Mubai stared at the two mounds on his chest. "Do you think we're stupid?"
Ma Hongjun put down the bowl, raised his hands in a gesture of surrender. "Okay, okay, I confess, I practiced it three times. The third time felt particularly good, so I practiced it two more times."
"Then what?"
"And that's it." Ma Hongjun looked down at himself. "I feel pretty good. Don't look at me like that. You guys try the fourth floor; you might like it too."
"Like?" Dai Mubai repeated the word.
"Yeah, my Soul Power is increasing fast!" Ma Hongjun patted his chest, making the area shake. "Look at me now, my Soul Power is even stronger than yesterday. At this rate, reaching level 50 in six months won't be a problem at all."
Dai Mubai and Oscar exchanged a glance, both seeing the same hesitation in each other's eyes.
