Shadow Counter-Spike Light Armor

Xu Huxiao’s second Soul Skill combines the Dragon-Scaled Black Tortoise’s Shadow Armor and Energy Reflection abilities. 40

• Initially provides complete defense against energy attacks from opponents within Xu’s power range and grants twenty percent physical defense. 40
• Absorbs ninety percent of energy attacks while intact, or fifty percent after breaking, and condenses the absorbed power into Purple Light Bullets. 40

• At greater mastery, it can gather and transfer the Soul Power of multiple allies to one recipient, temporarily causing a qualitative increase in that person’s strength. 99

Soul Ring energy is described as a highly differentiated form of Soul Power, making the method relevant to Xu Huxiao’s research into fusing blood qi and Soul Power. 5 297

Blessed Soul Rings

The Three-Eyed White Fox clan can bestow a blessing on a newly formed ring by transferring seven-colored energy from their third eyes. 292

• The clan blesses Hu Liena’s third ring in exchange for Xu sparing its surviving members. 292
• The 3,200-year ring becomes brighter but remains purple, with no detected increase in energy concentration or age and no special attached spiritual power. 292
• Xu confirms that it remains safe to absorb, but the blessing’s exact additional effect is not established at the time of the hunt. 292

Cursed Other Shore Flower Rings

The Other Shore Flower does not automatically leave an obtainable Soul Ring when killed; its curse imposes a preliminary ritual condition. 208

• Before the killing, the flower must receive the blood of a couple whose genuine love has endured separation and hardship. A change from deep blue to rose-red confirms that the condition has been fulfilled. 208 211
• Gui Mei and Zi Xing fulfill this condition, enabling Lin Mengmeng to obtain the flower’s 85,000-year black ring. 211
