Background

Minato was an Academy prodigy from an ordinary family who became Jiraiya’s disciple and rose to prominence through his battlefield achievements. Before the Third Great Ninja War had fully begun, his Flying Thunder God Technique had already made him a shinobi foreign enemies could not afford to underestimate. 90 194

He had previously led Hatake Kakashi and was considered the best person to guide him again when Kakashi’s solo missions became increasingly dangerous. 9 During the Land of Hot Water campaign, Minato served under Jiraiya, welcomed reinforcements led by Nara Shikaku, and first met Maruyama Qifeng, then operating under the identity of “Sarutobi Hiruzen.” 98
