Background / History

Tang San founded the Tang Sect and later ascended to the God Realm, where he inherited the divine positions of both the Sea God and the Shura God. He identifies himself as a God Realm enforcer and the Tang Sect’s founder from ten thousand years earlier 113.

His legacy on Douluo Continent becomes a central point of controversy. Lin Wan’er attributes the continent’s proliferation of Evil Soul Masters to Tang San’s destruction of the City of Slaughter and the poisonous herbs he left behind, while also criticizing his role in preventing Spirit Hall’s unification of the continent 14 39. Tang San is also said to have hidden saint-grade Immortal Herbs at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well rather than making their location known to later Tang Sect members 118 121.

When the Four Sects leave the Tang Sect and the Tang Sect Leader dies, Tang San reacts with fury from the God Realm. His anger subsides when Xiao Wu’s pregnancy gives him an opportunity to plan around the Auspicious Beast and the next Child of Fortune 20.

Tang San later sends a fragment of his consciousness into the lower realm by possessing Steel Douluo’s body and stealing Jing Hongchen’s Ninth-Level Soul-Stabilizing Soul Guidance Device. Mistaking Lin Wan’er for a god-beast rebuilding as a human, he attempts to force her into becoming his divine servant or kill her. The fragment is defeated by Lin Wan’er and the Ferocious Beasts, then absorbed into Lin Wan’er’s soul rings 113 114.

Tang San is intensely proud of his standing as a god and Tang Sect founder. He views the Four Sects’ departure as ingratitude and expects them to remain mindful of both himself and the Clear Sky Sect 20.

He is calculating in matters concerning his family, the lower realm, and potential Children of Fortune. His plans include using future family ties and monitoring figures such as Ma Xiaotao and Huo Yuhao for his own purposes 20 81.

His confidence frequently becomes arrogance. During his descent, he assumes Lin Wan’er is a disguised god-beast, underestimates the Ferocious Beasts, and attempts to threaten them into surrendering the Silver Dragon King 113 114. Even after losing to the God of Destruction’s side, he remains defiant 178.

Lower-Realm Soul Fragment

Tang San descends through a consciousness fragment in Steel Douluo’s body, seeking a suspected god-beast and intending to use it to stabilize his fragment. His attempt to subdue Lin Wan’er instead brings him into conflict with Di Tian, Bear King, Zi Ji, and other Ferocious Beasts 113 114.

God Realm Conflict

After his deceptions are exposed, Tang San leads Xiao Wu and the Shrek-aligned gods against the God of Destruction and the Seven Original Sin Gods. He relies on repeated Asura Blood Sword attacks and allied amplification but ultimately loses the battle 172 174 175 177 178.

Time-Space Turbulence
