Background / History
Shrek and the Tang Sect were historically described as sharing “glory and loss”: Tang San was both associated with Shrek’s founder Flender and one of the Shrek Seven Devils. By the present era, Shrek has become a continent-wide Soul Master holy land while the Tang Sect has declined into near-legend, despite Tang Ya’s connection to Bei Bei and Mu En’s lineage 39.
Following a past Sun Moon Empire invasion and the emergence of the Heaven Soul Empire, Shrek expanded from an academy into Shrek City. The city has a permanent population approaching three million and functions both as a base for academy graduates and a deterrent to outside criticism 55.
Shrek’s reputation rests partly on the original seven deities who defeated Spirit Hall. Its public image is actively promoted during admissions, including hired Soul Masters who spread embellished stories near the main gate 55.

| Inner Courtyard | Only a small number of exceptional Outer Courtyard graduates may take its separate assessment. Inner Courtyard study lasts six years; graduates are said to be at least Soul Emperor level. 55 |

Story Role / Major Arcs
Tang Sect controversy
Lin Wan’er argues that Shrek bears responsibility for failing to support the declining Tang Sect, particularly given Tang Ya’s relationship with Bei Bei and Mu En’s standing. Nian Xunsi, an Outer Courtyard Soul King teacher, intervenes to defend Shrek’s reputation and demand an apology. 39
Response to the continental phenomenon
After Lin Wan’er’s faith-power absorption causes a continent-wide phenomenon, Shrek’s Supervision Group and senior figures debate locating its source. Cai Meier proposes coercive action against outside powers that refuse to surrender a useful talent, including accusations of harboring Evil Soul Masters. 48
Huo Yuhao and Lin Wan’er’s enrollment
Huo Yuhao enrolls under a recommendation from the Heaven Soul Empire’s royal family, while Lin Wan’er joins Shrek’s staff. Her Soul Emperor cultivation and six Soul Rings overcome student resistance to her appointment. 57 59
Beast tide at Shrek City
Shrek City mobilizes when the Star Dou Great Forest attacks. Mu En confronts Zi Ji, while city forces defend the south wall with Soul Guidance Devices. Lin Wan’er, disguised as Nightbringer Soraka, summons illusory soul beasts from the Soul Rings of Soul Masters present; the conflict culminates in Song Lao’s death at the hands of Lin Wan’er’s Blood Pool Soul Beast. 123 127
Shrek Seven Devils
The Sea God Pavilion awards Huo Yuhao, Wang Dong, Xiao Xiao, and their teammates the title of Shrek Seven Devils and charges them with winning the All-Continent Advanced Soul Master Academy Soul Fighting Tournament. Huo Yuhao, Wang Dong, and Xiao Xiao receive separate cultivation under Mu En on Sea God Island. 131
War with the Heaven Soul Sect
During the later war, Ri Lao’s Sun God Light Barrier traps Xuan Lao and thousands of Shrek City Soul Masters. Shrek’s forces counterattack with Soul Guidance Device groups and eight Titled Douluo, including Bei Bei, He Caitou, Xiao Xiao, Ye Guyi, Nan Qiuqiu, and Ji Juechen. 189
Huo Yuhao subsequently defeats Xuan Zi and the Shrek army’s Soul Guidance Device Master Legion. When Xuan Zi threatens a massacre by Shrek personnel stationed across the original three nations, Huo Yuhao demands that Shrek return occupied territories and informants before withdrawing to Shrek City. 193 194
