Dai Mubai initially approaches battle with intense confidence in his royal Martial Soul, arena reputation, and ability to challenge stronger opponents. Before facing Huang Yun, he publicly promises a victory within three minutes and dismisses the danger posed by a peak level-39 opponent. 3

His loss to Huang Yun exposes how strongly he ties his pride to strength. Unable to land even one blow, Dai becomes furious and reckless, escalating from repeated claw attacks to White Tiger Radiant Wave and White Tiger Vajra Transformation. 3 4 Even so, he later reports the defeat honestly to Flender, acknowledging that his opponent’s speed and technique were superior. 6

The humiliation becomes a source of motivation. More than a year later, although he has reached level 39 and defeated a Soul Ancestor, he remains dissatisfied and vows to show Huang Yun how much he has improved. 69

By their reunion, two years of training have taught him to turn anger into controlled fighting intent rather than immediately losing his reason. He openly credits Huang Yun’s humiliation with driving his advancement to level 42. Nevertheless, another overwhelming defeat exposes insecurity beneath this greater steadiness: while recovering, he repeatedly questions his own worth and whispers, “Am I really trash?” 76 77 82

His resentment persists into the tournament, where seeing Huang Yun again revives memories of the academy battle. When Huang Yun finally reveals seven Spirit Rings, including two hundred-thousand-year rings, Dai Mubai’s desire to catch up gives way to despair. He recognizes that Huang Yun had never treated him as a genuine opponent. 123 130

Despite his pride and personal frustrations, Dai Mubai is loyal to his teammates. After Xiao Wu’s identity as a transformed soul beast is confirmed, he is the first of the students to step forward in her defense. 137

His expectations for Zhu Zhuqing remain tied to their arranged engagement and imperial future. He urges her to return to Star Luo with him for status and cultivation resources, but ultimately accepts her refusal with visible frustration. 140

Dai Mubai uses White Tiger Meteor Shower as a ranged bombardment during the attack on Chrysanthemum Douluo in Fallen Soul Gorge. He charges from the flank and rains the attack down while Xiao Wu and Zhu Zhuqing approach from other directions. Chrysanthemum Douluo’s Martial Soul Avatar destroys their attacks and sends Dai Mubai flying. 115

Seven-in-One Fusion Skill

Great Soul Arena defeat

Dai Mubai enters a one-on-one match against the masked newcomer known as The Flash, convinced that his Evil-Eyed White Tiger Martial Soul will neutralize the opponent’s agility. His attacks fail to connect even when Huang Yun initially relies only on physical speed. 3

After being taunted and injured by a lightning-enhanced kick, Dai activates White Tiger Vajra Transformation and attempts to force a direct confrontation. Huang Yun accepts, pierces through Dai’s White Tiger Radiant Wave with Raikiri, and strikes his chest with restrained force, leaving him unconscious but alive. 4 5

Return to Shrek Academy

Healing Soul Masters prevent the residual lightning in Dai’s meridians from causing permanent damage. Dai returns to Shrek alone and reluctantly tells Flender that he was unable to touch The Flash during their entire battle. 6

Drive to surpass Huang Yun

Over a year later, Dai has reached level 39 and can defeat a Soul Ancestor, but considers this progress insufficient compared with Huang Yun’s overwhelming speed. After Shrek defeats the Heaven Dou Royal Academy team, he silently vows to prove himself in their next meeting. 69

Academy relocation and rematch

When the Balak Royal House withholds Shrek’s school license, Flender arranges for the academy’s teachers and students to join Heaven Dou Royal Academy while retaining the Shrek team identity. Dai Mubai does not object to the planned relocation. 75 76

That night, Huang Yun returns to Shrek after two years away. Dai recognizes him despite his unmasked appearance and challenges him to a rematch, announcing that he has reached level 42. His more controlled fighting intent and simultaneous use of three soul skills demonstrate genuine improvement, but Huang Yun still evades his attack and defeats him with an overwhelmingly powerful kick. 76 77 78 123

Oscar treats Dai Mubai with a recovery sausage while the other students confront Huang Yun. Dai later reactivates his White Tiger Martial Soul and attacks from the flank as Tang San prepares another assault. Huang Yun evades them and ends the battle with two thunderballs that knock both unconscious. 78 79

The following morning, Dai Mubai lies injured in bed, repeatedly replaying the defeat and questioning his own talent. He confirms to the teachers that the attacker was the same youth from the Great Soul Arena and explains that Huang Yun defeated them without revealing his Martial Soul or using visible Spirit Rings. Flender advises the group to avoid further provocation and seek strength in Heaven Dou City. 82

Fallen Soul Gorge ambush

On the journey to Spirit City for the tournament finals, Dai Mubai joins the Shrek team’s defense against masked Soul Masters led by Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo. He activates White Tiger Body Shield as the group gathers, and the team uses its Seven-in-One Fusion Skill to empower Tang San. 114

With allied support, Dai attacks Chrysanthemum Douluo from the flank using White Tiger Meteor Shower while Xiao Wu and Zhu Zhuqing strike from other angles. Chrysanthemum Douluo’s Martial Soul Avatar overwhelms their coordinated offensive and sends Dai flying. Sword Douluo, Bone Douluo, and the other allies ultimately secure the group’s escape; the survivors are wounded, but none of Shrek’s party dies in the ambush. 115

Tournament reunion and runner-up finish

At the finals opening ceremony, Dai Mubai recognizes Huang Yun seated beside Dugu Yan with the Imperial Fighting Team. The sight revives the humiliation of the academy battle, which has continued to trouble him throughout the intervening year. 122 123

He watches the Imperial Fighting Team face Spirit Hall and acknowledges that Huang Yun is the only member of his team capable of withstanding Qian Renxue’s peak Soul Emperor strength and Angel Domain. Huang Yun’s subsequent revelation of a Thunder Kunpeng Martial Soul, five black rings, and two red hundred-thousand-year rings destroys Dai’s remaining assumptions about his rival’s limits. 127 129 130

Shrek nevertheless advances through its own matches using teamwork, Dai Mubai’s White Tiger offense, and the Seven-in-One Fusion Skill. The team defeats New Godwind and finishes second overall behind the Imperial Fighting Team. 124 136

Defense of Xiao Wu

At the awards ceremony, Bibi Dong orders Xiao Wu’s capture after identifying her as a transformed hundred-thousand-year Soft Bone Rabbit. Dai Mubai immediately joins his teammates in adopting battle stances to protect her. 136

After Chen Xin confirms her identity, Dai is the first student to step forward, summoning his White Tiger Martial Soul and four Spirit Rings. The group’s refusal to abandon Xiao Wu leads to a confrontation with Spirit Hall, and Tang Hao arrives before Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo can seize her. 137

Graduation and separation from Zhu Zhuqing

Before the group leaves Spirit City, Flender announces that the students have met Shrek’s graduation standards. They establish a five-year reunion pact in Heaven Dou City, where Shrek is to be re-established using Liu Erlong’s Blue Tyrant Academy. 140

Dai Mubai tells Zhu Zhuqing that their victory over Dai Weisi and Zhu Zhuyun has qualified them to inherit Star Luo’s crown prince and crown princess positions. He urges her to return with him, arguing that imperial resources will accelerate their cultivation and reminding her that he is her fiancé. He also questions whether she is still thinking about Huang Yun, who already has Dugu Yan as his girlfriend. 140

Zhu Zhuqing refuses to inherit the crown princess position or return to the imperial family’s ruthless succession system. She tells Dai Mubai to find someone else and suggests Zhu Zhuyun. Dai accepts her decision with frustration and leaves, while Zhu Zhuqing accepts an invitation to the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. His qualification for succession is established, but his formal accession and any replacement engagement remain unconfirmed. 140
