Background / History
Dugu Feng was an abandoned infant found by Dugu Bo in Sunset Forest. Although not related by blood, he grew up regarding himself as a member of the Dugu Family and formed a close grandfather-grandson bond with Dugu Bo. In his former life, he had been an orphan who died alone from cancer, making his new family especially important to him. 1 3
At age six, Feng awakened the inky-black Toxic Toad rather than the snake Martial Soul expected of the Dugu Family. His Innate Full Soul Power immediately made him a potential target for Spirit Hall, whose hostility toward Dugu Bo forced the family to conceal his talent. 1
Under Dugu Bo’s instruction at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, Feng learned poison identification, refinement, and survival. His Perfect Poison Body enabled him to absorb toxins without toxic backlash, allowing him to turn poisons into cultivation resources rather than liabilities. 2
Feng later traveled independently, built the masked arena identity of Western Poison, and amassed 214 consecutive Great Soul Arena victories. He arrived at Heaven Dou Royal Academy at age eleven as a level 43 Soul Ancestor, where he became captain of the Imperial Fighting Team and recruited Gu Lei as his first disciple. 13 15 18 19
While seeking his fifth and sixth Soul Rings, Feng’s Martial Soul evolved through the sacrifice of the Nether Ghost Frog. He subsequently returned from two years of isolated cultivation with six extraordinarily aged Soul Rings, then secluded himself again at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well to prepare for Soul Saint and beyond. 27 34 35
Appearance
Dugu Feng is described as tall and straight for his age, with silver hair, jade-green eyes, and a cool, adult-like bearing. After Ice-Fire Tempering, his manifested eyes may appear crimson and icy blue, reflecting his Ultimate Fire and Ultimate Ice attributes. 4 9
- His usual demeanor is composed and restrained despite his youth. 4 14
- He often hides his identity in a black robe, half-mask, and elderly dwarf-like disguise when acting as Western Poison. 13 14
- Complete Martial Soul Possession causes his body to swell, develops frog-like pupils and black markings, and produces an appearance he considers ugly. 27
- After fusing with the Nether Ghost Frog, black mist obscures his body during possession, while his shadow takes the form of the Ice Fire Nether Toad Emperor. 28
Personality
Dugu Feng is intensely ambitious and rejects conventional limits. At six, he declared that he would reach Soul Saint within twelve years; later, he swore not to marry until becoming a Titled Douluo and vowed to achieve that realm before thirty. 1 35
He is pragmatic, observant, and willing to take dangerous opportunities when preparation makes them viable. He studies opponents’ weaknesses, uses terrain and poison to control encounters, and avoids unnecessary political entanglements with Heaven Dou’s royal faction and Spirit Hall. 11 17 38 39
Feng is ruthless toward murderers, robbers, and assassins, believing mercy toward dangerous enemies may endanger innocent people. However, he distinguishes punishment by circumstance: he spared Count Ryan’s young son after teaching him a lesson and later cured Chrysanthemum Douluo after defeating him to prevent further conflict with Spirit Hall. 12 15 39
His harshness does not extend to those he considers family or companions. His pursuit of strength is largely driven by his desire to protect Dugu Bo, Dugu Yan, Gu Lei, and those whose safety he has personally accepted as his responsibility. 3 4 18 29
Abilities & Skills
Perfect Poison Body and Poison Devouring
Feng possesses the legendary Perfect Poison Body, a poison-path physique that absorbs and refines toxins without leaving harmful residue. 2
- Can consume poisons as cultivation resources and increase his resistance with each new toxin absorbed. 1 2
- Became immune to one hundred poisons after forming the Hundred Poisons Body. 2
- Can devour poison that targets the soul; Black Spring’s soul-targeting venom instead strengthened Feng’s spiritual power. 24
- His evolved Martial Soul can devour nearly any type of Soul Power, with light-attributed power as its stated exception. 27
Martial Soul Evolution
| Form | Development |
|---|---|
| Toxic Toad | Original poison-attributed Martial Soul awakened at age six. 1 |
| Ice-Fire Toad | Evolved after Feng absorbed the Octagonal Mysterious Ice Grass and Infernal Delicate Apricot; gained Ultimate Ice and Ultimate Fire poison. 9 |
| Ice Fire Toad King | Identified after Feng reached level 40, with superior suppression over ordinary toad-type Martial Souls. 10 18 |
| Ice Fire Nether Toad Emperor | Evolved after fusing with the Nether Ghost Frog; gained nether affinity, enhanced devouring, and powerful suppression of frog-type Martial Souls. 27 |
Toad Style
Feng’s primary internal martial art stores force in stillness before releasing it explosively. It also tempers his body and meridians through poison and extreme elemental energy. 2 6
- Reached Lesser Mastery after a year of poison-tempering cultivation. 2
- Reached Great Mastery while condensing the Poison Pill through the Pill Venom Art. 6
- Achieved Great Completion through Ice-Fire Tempering at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, surpassing Ouyang Feng’s stated attainment. 9
- Greatly enhances his physique, palm force, jumping ability, and capacity to endure powerful Soul Rings. 7 9
Pill Venom Art and Poison-Attribute Soul Core
Feng created the Pill Venom Art by compressing Jade Phosphorous Serpent Emperor Venom and numerous refined toxins into a liquid Poison Pill within his dantian. 6
- The Poison Pill circulates alongside Soul Power and strengthens itself by devouring and refining poisons. 6
- Its Ultimate Ice and Ultimate Fire components exist in a balanced yin-yang state. 9
- Feng successfully refined the Poison Pill into a Poison-Attribute Soul Core at level 75. 41
- He plans to form separate poison, fire, and ice Soul Cores at progressively higher realms. 41
Soul Skills
- Toxic Toad Devouring Breath — Releases poisonous mist that corrodes Soul Power, drains strength, and numbs the target’s body. 2
- Spiritual Snake Hidden Force — Raises Feng’s speed by thirty percent and transmits invisible force through a target to damage internal organs. 3
- Devouring Poison Gas — Colorless, odorless gas that drains Soul Power and life force, then returns the absorbed energy to Feng. 7
- Hell Venom Fire — Ultimate Fire-enhanced poisonous flame that clings to a target and can only be removed by Ultimate Ice, overwhelming Soul Power, amputation, or Feng himself. 11
- Nether Domain — A domain that devours Soul Power and supports the Ice Fire Nether Toad Emperor’s absorption of ownerless Soul Rings. 28
- Ice Toad Poison Prison — Freezes an area and fills the air with Extreme Ice Poison; inhalation freezes Soul Power and can turn victims into ice sculptures. 40
Movement, Stealth, and Self-Created Skills
- A Thousand Li in a Flash — Movement technique that reached Lesser Mastery within Feng’s first year and Mastery through arena combat. 2 15
- A Leap of a Thousand Li — Spatial ability from his Toad Beast right-leg Spirit Bone. It originally teleported up to 1,000 li once per day, later expanded to 8,000 li and three consecutive uses. 9 41
- Nether Stealth — Left-leg Spirit Bone skill that turns Feng shadow-like, grants an escape method, and negates part of incoming physical damage. 27
- Deadly Sound Wave — Self-created sonic attack combining Toad Style inner force with Spiritual Snake Hidden Force; it can disrupt Soul Power and damage internal organs. 9 20
- Meteor Flying Kick — Aerial impact technique created by combining enhanced jumping power, Soul Power, and controlled landing force. 9
- Ice-Fire Toad Palm — Palm technique that injects Ultimate Ice and Ultimate Fire poison into an opponent’s body. 24 37
- Bone-Penetrating Acupoint Striking — Close-range technique mastered during Feng’s arena travels. 15
Physical and Spiritual Strength
Feng’s body has been repeatedly tempered by toxins, Soul Rings, Immortal Herbs, and the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. 2 7 9
- His physical body became strong enough to rival a Soul Saint and approach Soul Douluo-level resilience before he reached Soul King. 24
- His Indestructible Vajra Body allowed him to endure attacks from Chrysanthemum Douluo that would normally be fatal to a Soul Saint. 37 38
- His spiritual power was sufficient to destroy the resentful remnant soul of the Ice Jade Scorpion King during Soul Ring absorption. 31
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Wishful Hundred Treasure Pouch — Gift from Dugu Bo containing 100,000 Gold Soul Coins; it also exposed Feng’s connection to Poison Douluo to Sima Kong. 10 14
- Toad Beast Right-Leg Spirit Bone — System reward that increases right-leg explosive power by eighty percent and grants A Leap of a Thousand Li. 9
- Nether Ghost Frog Left-Leg Spirit Bone — Grants Nether Stealth and partial physical-damage immunity. 27
- Ice Jade Scorpion King External Soul Bone — A controllable scorpion tail capable of the Ice Explosion Technique, firing Ultimate Poison ice needles that freeze and shatter targets. 31
- Spatial Claw — External Soul Bone that grants Spatial Severing, a space-rending attack capable of physically splitting opponents apart if they cannot resist it with sufficient Soul Power. 41
- Skull Spirit Bone — Grants Dragon God’s Protection, which summons a Dragon God phantom to block attacks, and Dragon Roar Nine Heavens, a spiritual attack. 33
- Dragon Threadworms — Survivors of Feng’s accidental Gu cultivation experiment; he feeds them poisoned soul-beast meat to keep them under control. 34
- Fire Lizard King Right Arm Bone — Approximately 25,000 years old; Feng stored it rather than absorb it because its pure fire attribute and age did not meet his standards. 11
Relationships
- Dugu Bo — Adoptive grandfather, mentor, and closest family member. Dugu Bo taught Feng poison arts, protected him from Spirit Hall, and later relied on Feng’s cultivation methods to resolve his own poison problem. 1 6 34
- Dugu Yan — Adoptive older sister. Feng repeatedly works to suppress or cure her inherited serpent-venom backlash, while Yan remains fiercely protective and proud of him. 4 15 35
- Gu Lei — Disciple and first follower. Feng accepted the bullied commoner due to their compatible toad-type Martial Souls, then taught him a weakened Toad Breathing Method. 18 19
- Ning Rongrong — Rescued while fleeing the Hundred-Thousand-Year Thunder Tiger King; Feng refused to abandon her despite the danger, creating a debt of gratitude with the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. 28 29
- Xiao Zhu — Vermilion Clear Ice Toad King rescued in the Extreme North, later adopted as Feng’s pet and nurtured with Pill Poison. 30 31
- Chrysanthemum Douluo — Spirit Hall Titled Douluo whom Feng defeated through poison, attrition, and evasion before curing his injuries to avoid escalating the conflict. 38 39
- Ghost Douluo — Chrysanthemum Douluo’s close ally and a wary opponent; Feng’s ability to detect Nether Stealth drew Ghost Douluo’s respect and suspicion. 37 39
- Poison Fiend Wyvern — Future target and enemy. Feng swore to avenge the Nether Ghost Frog against the wyvern and intends to use it for a future Soul Ring. 27 35
- Thunder Tiger King — Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast secretly poisoned by Feng after their confrontation; Feng intends to claim its Poison Thunder Soul Ring after reaching Soul Sage. 29 30
Trivia
- Feng’s system is based on the template of Ouyang Feng, the Western Poison, providing martial techniques, poison knowledge, and cultivation rewards. 1
- He considers complete Martial Soul Possession embarrassing because of its swollen, frog-like appearance and normally avoids using it. 27
- His personal system storage space covers roughly 500 square meters but cannot hold living creatures. 8
- Feng refuses to slaughter living soul beasts en masse solely to improve his Soul Rings, considering such conduct no different from that of an Evil Soul Master. 28
