Background / History

The Immortal Herb grew from a rocky crevice in a valley of the Star Dou Mountain Range, where its nine-colored light and fragrance attracted powerful soul beasts. Its scent stimulated the residual medicinal power within Dugu Feng’s body, refining it sufficiently to raise his Soul Power from level 49 to level 50 25.

A near-Hundred-Thousand-Year Rock Frog King and the Red Poison Earth Dragon fought over the herb as it matured. The arrival of the Hundred-Thousand-Year Poison Fiend Wyvern escalated the conflict, but the Nether Ghost Frog exploited the chaos, stole the Lingzhi, and swallowed it before escaping underground 26.

The Poison Fiend Wyvern later mortally wounded the Nether Ghost Frog and recovered the Lingzhi. Before dying, the frog sacrificed itself to Dugu Feng; its body still contained enough unrefined medicinal power from the herb to raise his Soul Power by six levels. Dugu Feng estimated that only thirty to forty percent of the herb’s medicinal power remained for the Wyvern 27.

The herb’s exceptional potency originated from an ancient parasite formerly attached to the Nine-Colored Dragon God. The parasite had fallen into the valley carrying medicinal seeds; the Immortal Herb grew from one such seed and absorbed the parasite’s residual divine power 33.

Appearance

A dazzling Lingzhi mushroom growing from a rock crevice, radiating a nine-colored glow and an exceptionally alluring fragrance 25.

• Its medicinal aura was comparable to the Immortal Herbs cultivated at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well 25.

The herb releases a fragrance potent enough to activate and refine dormant medicinal energy in nearby beings.

• A single breath refined Dugu Feng’s residual Immortal Herb power and advanced him from level 49 to level 50 25.
• Its scent attracted the Nether Ghost Frog, which sought it out and consumed it 27.
• The medicinal energy remained effective even after being partially absorbed and carried within the Nether Ghost Frog 27.

Residual Divine Power

The herb was nourished by the residual aura of an ancient Dragon God parasite, accounting for its unusually high quality.

• It originated from a medicinal seed carried into the valley by the parasite after its fall to Douluo Star 33.
• Its absorbed power enabled the Nether Ghost Frog to increase its cultivation beyond eighty thousand years before its death 28.
• The unrefined medicinal energy within the frog later contributed six levels to Dugu Feng’s advancement to level 59 27.

Relationships

• Dugu Feng — Identified the herb as an Immortal Herb; its fragrance raised him from level 49 to level 50, while the energy remaining within the Nether Ghost Frog later raised him to level 59 25 27.
• Nether Ghost Frog — Stole and swallowed the Lingzhi; retained much of its medicinal power until sacrificing itself to Dugu Feng 26 27.
• Poison Fiend Wyvern — Pursued the Nether Ghost Frog to reclaim the herb, killed the frog, and departed with the remaining Lingzhi 26 27.
• Rock Frog King — Defended the valley and battled for the mature Lingzhi before withdrawing to preserve its clan 25 26.
