Background
Amber became part of Lance’s small social circle through Nia. Alongside Nia and Flora, she regularly played Three Dragon Cards with him after the dungeon rampage disrupted Grayrock Town. During Lance’s period of extreme frugality, Amber supplemented his cheap tavern meals with warm milk and publicly defended him from adventurers who mocked him. 2
When Lance began his intensive sword training, his enormous appetite became a financial problem. Amber repeatedly brought him large platters of meat, claiming they were leftovers intended for stray dogs. 3
She works at The Boar and Rose, the tavern established by her retired-adventurer father. His reputation as a formidable former professional helps make the tavern a prominent and secure gathering place for Grayrock’s adventurers. 23
Appearance
Amber is a curvy young woman with distinctive golden-red hair, usually styled for practical tavern work. Her appearance is described as striking and fiery, matching her energetic presence. 2 23
- Golden-red hair, tied in a high ponytail while serving customers 23
- Strong, visibly muscular arms capable of carrying several oversized beer mugs at once 23
- At work, wears a fitted white blouse, black corset vest, and a dark skirt designed for easy movement 23
Personality
Amber is bold, straightforward, and mischievous. She enjoys gossip, card games, drinking, and teasing her friends—particularly Nia and Lance. Her teasing is not cruel; when answering a magical card’s question about who lost worst in their first card game, she falsely named Lance to spare Nia embarrassment. The deck identified the answer as a “gentle lie.” 23 46 47
She is fiercely protective of those she cares about. When Hakon publicly harassed Lance, Amber immediately threw ale in his face, reprimanded him, and forced him to pay for the mug he had ruined. 24
Beneath her carefree manner, Amber is considerate and family-oriented. She chooses to accompany her father when his old adventuring party reunites, intending to handle their logistics and ensure that he is cared for on the road. 47

The Boar and Rose Incident
When Hakon calls Lance a “pretty-boy scribe” and attempts to drive him from the tavern, Amber intervenes without hesitation. Her father’s silent intimidation prevents Hakon from retaliating, while Amber ensures he pays for the ale and mug involved in the confrontation. 24
Housewarming and the Illusory Iris Confession
Amber attends Lance’s housewarming with two barrels of her family’s rye beer and several games. She introduces the Illusory Iris Confession deck, using its questions to turn the gathering into an evening of embarrassing honesty and affectionate teasing. 45 46
