Along the way, Shen Luo and Nie Caizhu constantly encountered strange Dark Beast attacks similar to the Black Snake. There were serpentine and scorpion-like crawlers, as well as beasts like Black Wolves and Black Tigers. They even ran into a swarm of Black Bats.
Some of these Dark Beasts were stronger than the two Black Snakes, but their methods of attack were much the same. They lurked in the darkness before launching sudden ambushes.
After Shen Luo and Nie Caizhu figured out the Dark Beasts' attack patterns, they handled the stronger incoming beasts far more calmly, without the danger they had faced before.
A sharp whistle cut through the air!
A Black Scorpion the size of a human head shot out of the darkness. Its tail turned into a black line and struck the lotus-petal barrier around Nie Caizhu, piercing straight through it, only to be blocked by the second layer of yellow light.
After failing in one strike, the Black Scorpion immediately fled to the side, about to escape.
A crimson flying sword shot over from the side and pinned the Black Scorpion to the ground with a puff. Shen Luo had made his move.
Bright golden flames rose from the flying sword, engulfing the Black Scorpion and burning it. It was True Solar Fire.
During their journey, he had already tested it thoroughly. Of the several Heavenly Fire-grade spiritual flames he possessed, True Solar Fire inflicted the greatest damage on these Dark Beasts...
The Black Scorpion let out a shrill scream and quickly turned to ash, but its scorpion tail remained intact. A strange strand of Witch Power within it had resisted the True Solar Fire.
Shen Luo calmly swept his sleeve, and a stream of golden light wrapped around the black scorpion tail and drew it over.
