Nie Caizhu wore a faint smile as she raised the black jade plaque in her hand and examined it closely. It was not a perfect restoration of a shattered object, but a genuine return to its state before it had broken, without the slightest irregularity.

The black jade plaque had, astonishingly, never shattered at all.

"It really works. Wonderful." Nie Caizhu murmured delightedly.

Then she stood up, picked up an ordinary teacup from the bamboo table, and curled her five fingers slightly. The cup shattered at once, sending fragments of porcelain flying in every direction.

This time, however, Nie Caizhu did not immediately use her power to control the broken teacup. Instead, she waited several dozen breaths before releasing her bloodline power. A sheet of white light spread from her body, enveloping an area roughly a zhang around her.

"Temporal Reversal." She lightly rubbed her fingers together in the air and spoke.

The white light emanating from her body immediately drew back in, and even the dust floating beside her began drifting upward. The shattered teacup on the table started flying backward, all its fragments gathering and returning until they finally reassembled.

Just as the teacup was about to return to its original state, the white light gathered around it suddenly scattered without warning. The teacup shattered once more and fell onto the table.

Nie Caizhu frowned slightly and carefully inspected the porcelain shards on the table. She soon discovered that they had not failed to recover entirely, but rather had not recovered completely.
