Fierce Battle

Facing Shen Luo's swift assault, Lu Qing reacted just as quickly. He jerked his neck aside and swung an arm up to smash at the sword's edge.

A bracer encircled his forearm, carved with the head of a savage lion. As the blade closed in, the lion opened its jaws and bit down, locking the sword in place. No matter how Shen Luo tugged, he could not pull it free.

A cold glint flashed through Lu Qing's eyes. He suddenly opened his mouth and spat.

Green light flared between his lips. A gleaming green flying knife shot out with a whoosh, hurtling straight for Shen Luo's brow at blinding speed.

They were too close. There was no room to dodge.

Just as the green light was about to pierce Shen Luo's skull, a point of red light flashed at his brow. The Pure Yang Sword Embryo nurtured within his body burst forth and collided with it.

The flying knife and sword embryo met point to point. Sparks sprayed from the clash, trailing wisps of green and red light as they rang against each other.

At that moment, the corner of Shen Luo's mouth lifted. He gave a slight tap with the fingers holding his sword.

Two streaks of blue light, each about a foot long, flew from the blade. One sped for Lu Qing's throat, while the other rushed at the flying knife.

Attacked from both sides, Lu Qing had nowhere left to dodge. He also had to divide his attention to control the flying knife, so he gathered all his magic power, ducked sharply, and opened his mouth to bite down on the blue light.

With a soft click, the Child Sword lodged between Lu Qing's teeth.

The Child Sword rang and shuddered but could advance no farther.
