Zhanguo looked toward the distant seal, and his expression changed.
The Golden Cicada Dharma Form sat cross-legged over the breach in the seal, its enormous body blocking the entire opening. Naturally, no demonic energy could surge out.
Zhanguo flew into a towering rage.
He had just been forced to bring the Demon Head over to help, and before leaving, he had placed several safeguards around the seal. Yet someone had broken through them without a sound.
Zhanguo was certain he could shatter that golden dharma form with a mere gesture, but the golden pillar of starlight overhead was growing ever more powerful. The slightest distraction would cause the black light formation he was holding up to collapse immediately.
Shen Luo also noticed what had happened at the distant seal and was overjoyed. He continued forming hand seals with one hand to maintain Three-Star Demonbane, while reaching into the air with the other.
The nearby Mysterious Yellow Unity Staff shot back into his hand. With a one-handed swing, he drove it hard into the ground.
A layer of yellow radiance rose over the staff, and it flashed into the earth, disappearing from sight.
Zhanguo was momentarily taken aback by this, but his expression immediately changed. Black energy poured from his body and spread thickly over the ground beneath his feet. At the same time, more black energy gathered around him, forming a suit of black armor.
Before he could do anything else, a streak of yellow light broke through the black energy on the ground as swiftly as lightning. With a soft thunk, it stabbed into his waist and abdomen, piercing straight through him with ease.
Zhanguo stared at the Mysterious Yellow Unity Staff impaling him, briefly stunned. He could hardly believe his protective Demon Armor had been breached so easily.
