Only a month had passed, yet when Maikana returned to her village, she found a completely unfamiliar town.

This left Maikana deeply puzzled, but remembering that His Highness Romon was a true god with many mages serving him, she understood.

Princess Qian Niya entered the town with over a thousand people.

From her perspective, every part of the town before her brimmed with the aura of magic. It had clearly been built rapidly through magical means.

The town was neatly laid out, its wooden houses built to standardized dimensions. Arrow towers flanked the stone walls, and from their tops, one could presumably see the stretches of harvested farmland outside.

Large trees lined both sides of the roads. Although they had been transplanted, the Druids had apparently kept them from suffering any damage. They looked as though they had always grown there, lending the town a touch of age.

Plants adorned every corner of the town. By the following spring, perhaps no trace of its recent construction would remain.

They proceeded slowly and carefully along the broad street, which had a full complement of restaurants, taverns, and shops on either side.

By His Highness Romon's will, this town would be the settlement for his first believers, all of whom would receive houses and farmland free of charge.

Of course, this was not intended as a reward. Rather, Romon understood profoundly that, for faith, a concentrated community of believers was infinitely better than a policy of scattering them throughout the territory. This involved the magnetic-field assimilation effect, which needed no further elaboration.

Princess Qian Niya vaguely understood this as well and grew thoughtful.

Not far ahead, a temple came into view.
