Power Progression

Professional Ranks

Druid professional levels and spell levels are separate: a Fifth-Level Druid, for example, gains Third-Level spells 195.

Stage / Realm / Level Chapter Notes
Druid Apprentice 1 549 Romon’s starting rank is retrospectively described as Level Zero.
Low-Level Druid — Levels 1–4 247 Initial professional ranks. Awakening produces a Heart of Nature and access to nature spells.
Fifth-Level breakthrough 135 195 247 A Druid establishes a genuine personal guiding principle through the Heart of Nature.
Intermediate Druid — Levels 6–10 247 Practitioners may appropriately be addressed as masters.
High-Level Druid — Levels 11–14 247 736 The transition from Tenth to Eleventh Level requires manifesting the chosen path.

Documented Advancement: Romon

Romon’s progression is unusually tied to the Shennong Horn Space. Its upgrades repeatedly synchronize with his body; this is his personal advancement mechanism, not a stated requirement for other Druids 195 600 917.

Background / History

Druidism originated among the Elves. Humans later adopted it, but some practitioners became so deeply assimilated into nature that they lost their human identity; traditional accounts accuse some of joining the Elves against humanity. Human Druid cultivation was consequently restricted to divine guidance, intended to prevent this perceived fall into heresy 115 259.

Druids survived earlier suppression partly because nature could awaken their powers without institutional training. Approximately three thousand years before Romon’s rise, they organized the Druid Order as humanity’s need for agriculture and animal husbandry increased and the Lord of Radiance’s absolute supremacy declined 582.

Romon’s ecological teachings challenged the separation between civilization and nature. His breakthrough beyond Fifteenth Level, followed by Desika’s and other Archdruids’ successful advances, established a reproducible alternative to the profession’s long-standing bottleneck 777 798. The resulting movement founded a second Druid Guild and eventually spread into five countries 802 804 1014.

After Romon became the Nature God, his religion and the Druid Guild were separated. Conversion remained voluntary: many established Druids retained their faith in Isidis, while more than half of the newly trained younger Druids joined the new Church, which began with six hundred Druids 1060.

Druid Paths and Philosophy

Path Focus Position in Human Society
Agricultural Druid Forests, animals, agriculture, and cultivation under divine guidance 115 259 The sanctioned human tradition, associated with the Goddess of Agriculture.
Nature Druid Nature’s fundamental forces, drawing power directly from nature 115 Condemned as heretical; feared for the possibility of mental assimilation and hostility toward humanity.
Elemental Druid The elemental branch of Nature Druidism 600 Its aura is difficult to distinguish from other elemental spellcasting professions, making concealment easier.
Wild Druid Animal power and transformation 600 Its distinctive aura makes concealment difficult; treated as heretical.
Avenger Druid Punishing those who harm the natural world 185 Jefa accepts this identity as an explanation for Romon’s unusual fire abilities 259.
Romon’s ecological path Humanity, agriculture, industry, and civilization understood as parts of nature 708 772 Forms the ideological foundation of the new Druid Guild 804.

Traditional Teaching

  • Becoming a Druid requires recognition from plants and nature, followed by continued communion with natural power 21.
  • Planting and caring for plants are taught as accessible ways to gain that recognition 21.
  • Jefa’s doctrine distinguishes cultivation from farming for harvest: Druids should guide farmers rather than become farmers themselves 21.
  • Traditional practitioners prioritize protecting nature over making potion brewing a permanent commercial occupation 47.

Romon’s Ecological Teaching

  • Humans are neither outside nature nor its masters 708 804.
  • Hunting, predation, and responsible harvesting are natural survival processes; needless killing, greed, and destruction violate balance 708.
  • Agriculture and technology can participate in natural cycles through decomposition, soil renewal, and preservation 772.
  • Higher-level Druids should heal damaged lands, improve soil, and preserve biodiversity 804.

Abilities & Skills

Heart of Nature

The Heart of Nature is both the core of Druid spellcasting and, at higher levels, the practitioner’s genuine guiding principle 2 15 135.

  • Initial awakening produces a green aura that connects the Druid with natural power; it strengthens with advancement 2.
  • Spell symbols appear within the core. Channeling power into a symbol creates a leaf representing one prepared spell use 15.
  • A symbol can be copied to prepare several uses of the same spell 15.
  • Deeper understanding and communion reveal additional symbols 15.
  • Available natural power is not the only limit: Romon’s mental capacity prevents further preparation even after the Shennong Horn replenishes his energy 15.

Nature Divine Arts

Druids normally receive completed spells from nature through meditation rather than constructing them through mage-style study 582 720.

  • Literacy is not theoretically necessary to advance or wield Nature Divine Arts 720.
  • Creating or modifying spells requires understanding their structure and assembling the appropriate power 720.
  • Nature’s recognition can make an original spell available to other Druids through meditation. Romon achieves this with Mud-to-Shell and Catalyzed Fermentation 720.
Application Representative Spells and Effects
Healing Stop Bleeding and Cure Minor Wounds provide early treatment; higher spells heal serious, critical, or multiple allied injuries 15 535 799.
Protection Barkskin, elemental resistance, Stone Skin, and a death-prevention barrier 83 325 503.
Restraint and concealment Entanglement, Camouflage, Hold Animal, and Spider Spell 185 195.
Movement Lightness, Flight, Walking on Air, Cloudwalk, and Wood Escape 185 195 325 535 720.
Offense Lightning Spell, Flame Strike, Ice Storm, Firestorm, and Revenge Storm 195 325 720 799.
Environmental work Control Water, Earthshaking, Diamond Wood, and plant cultivation 17 325 535.
Summoning Nature creatures, elemental beings, true dragons, and a half-strength Old Dragon projection 720 799.

Animal Communion and Companions

  • Wild Empathy I uses Nature Sense to perceive the vague emotions of animals and plants 2.
  • Life Companion establishes a life link through which an animal and its Druid share power 2.
  • First-Level Druids can theoretically obtain companions, but initially only ordinary creatures such as snakes, rats, and spiders 89.
  • Romon demonstrates nonviolent animal handling by calming attacking whales with a Green Light Orb 661.

Transformation

Animal transformation belongs to the Wild branch rather than being a universal ability of every Druid 563 600.

  • Romon’s offered Wild System would allow transformation into animals living in his space whose nature was understood by him or the space 600.
  • Wildness Transformation can eventually encompass plants and animals, including dragons at its stated Ninth Level 920.
  • Romon repeatedly postpones this specialization because its aura could expose him as a heretical practitioner 600 757.

Enlightenment and Treefolk

Druidic enlightenment can awaken intelligent plant beings, who may themselves become Druids 175 176 720.

  • Awaken Treant grants enlightenment and knowledge to trees more than five hundred years old 720.
  • Romon uses it to awaken five Ghostfire Treefolk, three at Druid Level Six and two at Level Seven 720.
  • In Elven society, Treefolk store natural energy and release it for themselves and allied Druids during battle, serving a role comparable to human Mage Towers 289.

Legendary Power

Saint Druid advancement fundamentally changes the nature of the practitioner’s power 917 920.

  • Romon’s golden Holy Power allows him to influence the elements within ten meters through will alone 917.
  • His Legendary spell Forest Feast initially creates consuming vegetation within a five-hundred-meter radius, destroying structures and draining living beings 920.
  • Later strengthening adds greater range and prevents teleportation within its sacred vegetation 976.

These are documented manifestations of Romon’s Saint Druid power, not confirmed universal abilities of all Druids.

Training and Education

A complete Druid education extends beyond spellcasting 17.

  • Identification, growth habits, and cultivation of thousands of plants.
  • Herbal medicine and potion preparation.
  • Wilderness survival.
  • Animal communication and control.
  • Combat skills for surviving alone in the wild 17.

Giant Eagle Academy

Romon’s academy combines formal education with direct cultivation, ecological projects, and research 689 814.

Division / Stage Requirements and Function
Initiation Division Apprentices study until becoming First-Level Druids 814.
Elementary Division First-Level Druids enter this division and may apply to join the guild while working and studying 814.
Intermediate Division Fifth-Level Druids may take its entrance test; study becomes research-based 814.
Instructor pathway Intermediate graduates may apply to teach and join the guild’s Middle Circle 814.
  • Establishing an academy normally requires substantial funding and a resident Druid of at least Eleventh Level 688.
  • Students are expected to plant, build, and cultivate projects that leave personal “marks” on the academy 689.
  • An Advanced Natural Altar produces Nature Mist, enriching the grounds and encouraging new growth 689.
  • Entrance testing evaluates physical fitness, perseverance, and talent; exceptional applicants without Druid affinity may still be recorded and trained for other useful roles 766.

Organizations

Original Druid Guild

  • Established approximately three thousand years earlier to organize and guide continental Druid practice 582.
  • Its Council oversees Druids with formal teachers as well as those without 582.
  • Its headquarters occupy a forest rather than a city; magical defenses replace ordinary walls 721.
  • The headquarters’ Forest Spirit aids communion with nature. In return, the Guild cares for the forest and holds an annual sacrifice 802.
  • Its leadership regards Romon’s independent movement as a threat to institutional authority, despite recognizing his innovations 760.

Druid Ecological Agriculture Research Guild

Romon’s new Guild adopts its manifesto by a unanimous vote of 111 attendees and establishes a three-circle hierarchy 804.

Circle Membership
Inner Circle Elders Council and national branch presidents 804.
Middle Circle County-level presidents and Druids above Eleventh Level 804.
Outer Circle Supporting Druids from First through Tenth Level 804.
  • Leadership: Romon serves as president; Desika and Xuni become vice presidents, with fifteen Archdruids forming the Elders Council 804.
  • Military arm: The Hand of Nature, commanded by Romon with Xiaocifa as deputy, handles assignments, patrols, and security cooperation 804.
  • Education: Giant Eagle Academy becomes the educational headquarters, with plans for national branch schools 804 814.
  • Public founding: More than one hundred Druids above Eleventh Level and 2,891 lower-level Druids join during the ceremony, which receives royal recognition 809.
  • International reach: The organization later maintains branches in five countries 1014.
  • Religious independence: It remains institutionally separate from the Nature God Church after Romon’s ascension 1060.

Social Standing and Customs

Recognition and Privileges

  • Romon’s First-Level Druid status grants Free Citizen recognition, approximately equivalent to an ordinary knight’s social standing 17.
  • Druids above Fifth Level can become nobles 517.
  • Archdruids possess recognized forest-claiming rights 135 247.
  • A Seventeenth-Level Druid receives courtesies comparable to those accorded a Count across nations 804.
  • Druids live longer than ordinary people and are described as longer-lived than other professionals because of their affinity with nature 758.

Robes and Rank Insignia

  • Druid robes display patterns and insignia identifying professional rank 657 758 816.
  • These markings are recognized across the continent; impersonating a rank without the corresponding strength invites severe consequences 657.
  • Robes vary in value and construction: Romon receives a luxurious gemstone-decorated robe and later wears an Archdruid robe made by numerous senior Druids 607 809.

Sacred Oak Duels

Druids traditionally resolve irreconcilable internal disputes through death duels beneath sacred oak trees 912.

  • Both participants touch the oak and channel power into it, binding their souls as well as their natural power 912.
  • Once contracted, the duel cannot be abandoned: fleeing costs the participant all natural power 912.
  • The conflict between the old and new Guilds turns this custom into a form of institutional warfare 912.
  • Druids themselves disagree over its legitimacy. Hualini defends the courage to fight over beliefs, while Taigen condemns such duels as bloodshed unrelated to protecting nature 915.
