After breakfast, Cassil came to visit.
"You wanted to look around and see my territory?" Romon said with an amused smile.
After not seeing him for a day, Cassil had become much more restrained.
The vast territory, the respectful officials, the knights bowing their heads to obey orders, the beautiful wife—without question, all of this had opened an immense distance between him and Cassil.
"Yes, my lord!" Cassil said.
"Fine, then come out with me. I also want to see how the territory has changed." Romon had only returned yesterday, and he too was full of interest in his own territory.
Looking down from the sky and inspecting the land from a carriage were entirely different experiences.
Eileen and Bell stayed at home. Romon and Cassil left the villa, boarded a carriage, and began touring the territory under the protection of several attendants.
Sitting in the carriage and leisurely watching the view beyond the window was a feeling Cassil had never experienced before. Thinking that everything he saw belonged to the man across from him left a peculiar taste in his heart.
It was summer, though the morning was still quite cool. After they had ridden for a while, however, the traffic on the main road gradually grew denser.
