Main World. Snow City
The second-largest city in the Shavigo Kingdom. Though spring had already arrived, the winter snow here had yet to melt completely.
The snow on the ground lay like a white outer garment, draped firmly and enduringly over the earth. It was a beautiful sight, yet aside from the local people, others could scarcely endure the freezing weather it brought.
Because ice and snow fell here year-round, the air was exceptionally fresh. Even though the bitterest cold had passed, the air still carried a bone-chilling frost, as though it could freeze a person's limbs and blood solid.
Beneath the snow on the ground lay dark soil. Frozen by the snow, this stretch of land had become so hard that even a light dig with an iron shovel would loosen only a little dirt.
Perhaps it was because one patch of earth nourished one kind of life. Even in such a frigid climate, adorable little animals could still be seen along the roads outside the city.
Some had thick fur, while others were born to love the cold. In any case, even amid ice and snow, Snow City was never lacking in life.
Compared to these animals, humans ventured outside far less often.
During winter, especially around the New Year, the people of Snow City generally did not come out to work, much less travel casually.
To them, winter was a rare long holiday in the year.
They would finish work early and return home, either waiting to take part in the Snow-Skiing Competition or waiting for the New Year.
The year's harvest had long since been stored away, and the year's savings were enough for a family to get through the winter.
