There was no need to wonder. The souls before Romon were the perfect example.

The net was actually a manifestation of holy power. Romon had withdrawn it, sweeping them all into the cave, which was comparatively safer.
The balls of light took on human shapes. The first was the soul of an elderly man. His clothes must have been what he had worn in life-he was actually in his underwear, with his arms and feet bare. Judging by that, he must have died in his sleep.
The second was a woman in a long robe. Her attire suggested she had been a mage.
Besides those two, there were five other souls, both men and women. Once rescued and set down, they all let out long sighs of relief.
Looking back, they could hear larvae fighting everywhere in the distant stretch of land. Even the surrounding area was beginning to swarm with weeping, roaring human-faced insects.
"What do we do? They're coming!"
The souls, who had only just begun to calm down, cried out again.
The female mage's soul began casting a spell, but it failed to activate. Instead, her translucent body began to twist.
Their worries, however, were clearly unnecessary.
When the human-faced insects reached the vicinity of the cave, they all miraculously skirted around it. The souls immediately breathed sighs of relief.
"Thank you, emissary of the god! Thank you for saving me! I repent of everything I did before!"
