The noblewoman clutched her head and cowered in the corner. She saw a girl walking toward her, a dining knife in her hand covered in crimson blood that dripped all along the way. Especially beside the girl floated an eyeball the size of a soccer ball, with angelic wings on either side, giving off an oddly harmonious beauty.
The eyeball monster continuously battered her sanity, twisting her mind. More flesh buds appeared across her body, swelling one after another before spreading out. Soon, her skin reddened as though from an allergic reaction, then tufts of hair-thin black strands drilled out and writhed like octopus tentacles.
"Ah!"
The noblewoman threw back her head and let out a shriek. Twisted, octopus-like tentacles struggled out of her mouth one after another. Her pupils widened, bloodshot veins spreading through them, until they burst with a pop. Two bloody tentacles extended out, each with an eyeball at its tip.
The parts of her skin covered in dense red spots burst open one after another as well, sprouting hair-thin tentacles that slowly lengthened, writhing like tongues.
The noblewoman had completely transformed into a monster, just like Su Zihao before her.
Ruan Xiaoqi nodded at Rage. Rage immediately understood and rushed forward to grapple with the tentacled monster.
Inside the dining hall, Su Ziyu stood upright on the ceiling, staring straight down. The black coffin that had originally been sealed shut had been violently forced open. A disorderly trail of bloodstains covered the floor, while a flesh-and-blood monster covered in twisted tentacles darted around the dining hall at incredible speed.
That was Su Mingyi, the man who styled himself as an ancient noble. His vest and shirt had long since vanished. Flesh twisted around flesh as he crawled on all fours, countless tentacles growing from his flesh buds. Even his human face had been completely abandoned, replaced by a dense mass of tentacles that resembled both feelers and octopus arms.
Su Ziyu had seen this scene on Su Zihao as well. That pitiful cousin had also turned into a monster with a face covered in tendrils in one final desperate struggle.
Under the All-Seeing True Eye, the Mental Body of the flesh monster Su Mingyi had become was already pitch-black!
After his battle with Su Zihao, Su Ziyu had realized that while he had been away, the family seemed to have undergone considerable changes. Sure enough, even this cousin uncle, who usually cared so much about his appearance and manners, had sought the gaze of an evil god for the sake of power.
Thinking of the organization Su Zihao had mentioned before his death, Su Ziyu could more or less guess that over the past three years, several members of the family had likely been infiltrated and corrupted by a cult.
He deeply despised their decision to willingly abandon their human bodies.
It was not only an insult to themselves, but also a stain upon the Su Family, a long-established family of sorcerers.
He was even more disdainful of Su Mingyi's family for turning to an evil god in exchange for power.
"Looks like pursuing power too obsessively will eventually make one drown in it..."
Su Ziyu pondered silently, his gaze focusing on the flesh monster again.
Two black spears wreathed in Netherworld Ghostfire tore through the air and shot toward the flesh monster with a sharp whoosh.
Bang! Bang!
The black spears pinned themselves into the floor, and Netherworld Ghostfire spread out like a tide. The black flames danced like sprites, instantly covering the entire floor of the fairly large dining hall.
Eerie human faces emerged from the black fire. They wailed and shrieked—some crying, some laughing, some calling out, some roaring. Every kind of human emotion was contained within them, relentlessly assailing the flesh monster's mind.
"Roar!"
He let out a howl and climbed onto the wall to avoid the black flames, scuttling toward Su Ziyu like a lizard. At the same time, the tentacles on his body shot out like spears and smashed into the ceiling, sending powder and debris flying.
Su Ziyu walked vertically along the wall as if his feet were coated in glue. The tentacles followed behind him, continuously tearing apart the wall.
At a corner, Su Ziyu kicked off hard with both legs and leaped into the air, circling behind the flesh monster. Tentacles followed after him, shooting out from the monster's back and forming a dense web that directly enveloped the entire space.
Yet Su Ziyu could still slip through the tiny gaps in that dense mesh. The All-Seeing True Eye allowed him to spot weaknesses and openings that were difficult to notice, while [Void Distortion] let his body bend freely and perform all sorts of unbelievable movements.
After slipping out of the tentacles' encirclement, Su Ziyu stretched out again in midair and fiercely clawed downward with both hands. Two black spears blazing with Netherworld Ghostfire pierced through the monster's head, spraying red and white everywhere.
"Ah!"
While the flesh monster clutched its head and howled, Su Ziyu landed and formed another sorcerer's seal.
"Dark Wisdom: Bound Dungeon!"
The darkness seemed to come alive, surging across the ground like a tide and rapidly surrounding the flesh monster. Twisting Lines emerged from the darkness, binding all kinds of objects, scraping along the walls, and wrapping around the dining table and floor as if they intended to isolate everything from the air.
The entire dining hall seemed to have been submerged in a black ocean, every object covered in shadows and darkness.
Some of the Twisting Lines crawled onto the flesh monster's body. Some twisted his body, some gripped his head tightly, and many more wrapped around his limbs. At that moment, the fluorescent lights on the ceiling burst with a bang, and the flesh monster's screams could be heard in the darkness.
"Su Ziyu! I'll kill you!"
Su Mingyi screamed madly, the tentacles on his body thrashing as they fought the Twisting Lines on some unseen level. But before the tentacles could gloat for long, many were caught by the Twisting Lines and thoroughly ground into fragments.
Gradually, his resistance weakened further and further. His body was bound tighter and tighter by the Twisting Lines, and even some of his flesh buds and fascia were crushed apart.
"Ah!"
Just then, something seemed to come alive within the dark shadows. It moved through the darkness, like a running mouse beneath a curtain. The shadows rose and fell like waves of wheat, yet there was no pattern or track to follow. The movements were extremely subtle, impossible to notice without close attention.
As if sensing danger approaching, Su Mingyi struggled to tear apart the Twisting Lines. Yet all he accomplished was making them bind him even tighter, nearly twisting him into a knot.
As the danger within the shadows drew closer and closer, Su Mingyi seemed to realize something. He looked in one direction in terror. Then the darkness opened up, the shadows spread, and a small shadow-like creature rushed out, wielding a pair of black scissors. Danger followed like a shadow!
"Ah! No!"
Before his death, Su Mingyi let out an unwilling roar, shouting as though he were using all his strength to curse him:
"That organization! They won't let you go! They won't..."
With a snap, it cut off his head! The Void Shadow Beast's fatal strike!
Double damage!
His head rolled across the floor. Su Ziyu slowly walked over and calmly called out:
"Extract materials!"
After withdrawing the white light, Su Ziyu continued walking outside, while the Void Shadow Beast returned to his shadow once more.
The headless flesh body gradually began to rot. Its tentacles stopped moving as well, completely losing their vitality.
"An organization again? Looks like you've been hiding quite a few secrets."
Su Ziyu rubbed his chin and walked out of the dining hall in thought.
