Huo Hai had pursued him all the way, yet no matter what he did, he could not catch up. After most of a day, Huo Hai finally gave up. "Damn it, what the hell is wrong with this guy?" Huo Hai truly could not understand why he was acting this way.
They had already been in the ruins for five months. No matter who it was, they should have settled down by now. Running around everywhere like this was hardly a good thing. Huo Hai suddenly narrowed his eyes. "Hmph, since I can't catch up to you, I'll make you come find me." He took out the map and began carefully studying the man's route. Before long, Huo Hai understood the pattern behind his movements.
This pattern was, in truth, simply charging forward recklessly. After every teleportation, he ignored every other fork in the road and headed straight ahead. Once he reached the next node, he teleported again. The pattern could not have been simpler.
Since that was the case, Huo Hai could easily map out this person's route. Huo Hai's eyes were far faster than the other man's movements. Very quickly, he calculated a whole series of the man's upcoming paths.
"Good. He'll appear at this node in ten minutes. I'll wait for you here." After determining one node the man would pass through, Huo Hai swiftly made his way there. Ten minutes was already very little time. If he delayed any longer and the spatial nodes changed, Huo Hai would have no idea where to search for this map fragment again.
Five minutes later, Huo Hai finally arrived outside the node he had chosen. He took out the map and looked it over. "Good. His method of advancing hasn't changed, and the spatial node ahead hasn't changed either.
