The Beast Tide swept past like ocean waves. Without tall, sturdy city walls to block it, charging over the area was far too easy for the Beast Tide. Beasts adapted to terrain far better than humans did.
The people fleeing the fortress were quickly caught by the swarming Spirit Beasts. Compared to those frenzied Spirit Beasts, human strength and speed were simply not worth mentioning. In the end, very few escaped. Watching from the rear, Huo Hai saw it more clearly than anyone: this southern army had now been thoroughly wiped out.
