Background / History

Hu Meier was originally Hu Donghan’s child bride and was three years older than him. After bandits massacred their household, the two children survived by hiding behind a cellar’s secret door. They later wandered as orphans before a wealthy Hu family adopted them; afterward, she became known as Hu Donghan’s elder sister. 2

While wandering, Hu Donghan devised survival plans and Hu Meier carried them out. Her first killing left her crying and bloodied, but repeated violence hardened her into a ruthless killer who lowered her guard only around Hu Donghan. 21

At eight years old, she and Hu Donghan destroyed a bandit stronghold that intended to eat them. Hu Meier poisoned its well with poison prepared by Hu Donghan; after the poisoned chief pursued them, the two killed him with small knives. The event left more than five hundred bandits dead. 21

During the Yin Soul Sect’s recruitment, Hu Meier’s High-Grade Ghost Spirit Root drew the attention of multiple Golden Core and Nascent Soul cultivators. Soul-Devouring Ancestor, a Spirit Transformation expert and Enforcement Hall Master, ultimately accepted her as his first disciple. 21 27

Hu Meier appears when Hu Donghan faces an execution disguised as a 140-lash sentence. She disarms the Enforcement Hall disciples through charm, announces herself as Hu Donghan’s elder sister, and exposes her authority as Deputy Hall Master. 20 21 22

She refuses to simply cancel Hu Donghan’s punishment, instead ordering a legal review of the accusations against him. Her investigation forces Wang Linshu and the corrupt enforcers to answer for their biased judgment. 22 23
