Authority and Sect Law

The Enforcement Hall is the Yin Soul Sect’s primary disciplinary institution. Though the sect’s evil-path management is otherwise loose, its authority is absolute: registered disciples—including Nascent Soul ancestors—must accept its punishments. Since the sect’s founding, the Hall has killed more than ten Nascent Soul ancestors and over a thousand Golden Core cultivators; lower-realm casualties are stated to be beyond counting. 3

• Private fights may involve insults and physical violence, but using spiritual power within the sect is forbidden. 3
• Disciples seeking a spiritual-power duel must fight at the main Enforcement Hall’s arena, where death matches are permitted without intervention. 3
• Lesser violations can result in whipping; serious offenses may lead to soul extraction, spirit flaying, and conversion into sky lanterns. 3
• The Hall’s judgments are normally difficult to challenge. A review may be requested by Golden Core ancestors only when a ruling appears flawed. 22
• Enforcement disciples and Battle Hall disciples hold exceptional status; except before their own leadership or the sect master, they are not required to kneel to other sect members. 36

Discipline Whip

The Discipline Whip is a low-grade spirit artifact issued to Enforcement Hall disciples and reserved exclusively for carrying out punishments. 20

• A single full-force lash from a Foundation Establishment wielder can kill a Qi Refining cultivator. 23
• Hu Donghan’s initial sentence of seventy lashes was escalated to 140 after he rejected the ruling, making the punishment an intended execution rather than ordinary discipline. 20

Soul-Seeking Technique

The Soul-Seeking Technique is a forbidden, brutal investigative art restricted to Enforcement Hall cultivators. 23

• It forcibly exposes a target’s memories and concealed actions. 23
• Elder Niu Jinzhong used it on Wang Linshu, uncovering his assassination attempt against Hu Donghan, the murder of twenty-six fellow disciples, and contemplated sect betrayal. 23
• Wang was executed, his soul extracted, and sentenced to fifty years of Enforcement Hall torture. 23

Headquarters

Bloodbone Peak is the location of the Yin Soul Sect’s main Enforcement Hall. Its crimson mountain is covered with the corpses and bones of sect disciples, while pervasive yin energy makes it frightening even to ordinary cultivators. 3

• The bones displayed across the peak belong to actual Yin Soul Sect disciples punished or killed by the Hall. 3
• The Hall’s standard attire consists of tight green robes, a Discipline Whip, and an Iron Law Tablet. 3
• Casual use of green clothing is not formally prohibited, but it is regarded as provoking the Enforcement Hall and can invite lethal treatment if the wearer later violates sect law. 3

History

A major medicinal-field sabotage crisis prompted one of the Hall’s most severe purges. After sect herb reserves were depleted and Qi Refining disciples lost access to cultivation pills, the sect master ordered an investigation. Soul-searching exposed the original offender and the mastermind behind the sabotage; the Enforcement Hall executed the involved disciples and killed three Golden Core ancestors. The aftermath produced strict field-management rules, including peak-specific assignments and mandatory peak-master approval. 36

The Hall’s authority was publicly challenged during the case against Hu Donghan. Three enforcement disciples, acting in Mu Ming’s interests, treated Wang Linshu and Mu Zhengfeng’s accusations as sufficient evidence and sentenced Hu to death by whipping. 19 20 Hu Meier’s arrival and disclosure of her successor’s plaque overturned their position; she retained the existing sentence procedurally but ordered a formal review of the investigation. 22

Elder Niu Jinzhong’s Soul-Seeking Technique exposed Wang Linshu’s crimes, after which Hu Meier ordered the execution of the three biased disciples and detained four others who had failed to intervene. 23 25 To suppress news of Hu Meier’s identity as successor, she subsequently ordered Enforcement Hall disciples to massacre the witnesses gathered near the Outer Affairs Hall. 24

• Soul-Devouring Ancestor — Spirit Transformation Hall Master; personally controls the Enforcement Hall and selected Hu Meier as his successor. 3 21 27
• Hu Meier — Deputy Hall Master and future Hall Master; Soul-Devouring Ancestor’s personal disciple. 22 27
• Niu Jinzhong — Nascent Soul Late Stage great elder and Soul-Devouring Ancestor’s longtime confidant; handles much of the Hall’s day-to-day power and is feared even more than the Hall Master by many disciples. 23

• Hu Donghan — Received Enforcement Hall robes, a whip, and an identification plaque through Hu Meier and Soul-Devouring Ancestor’s approval; he became the only known Qi Refining First Layer Enforcement Hall disciple in sect history. 28

Relations with Other Organizations

• Outer Affairs Hall — Enforcement disciples guard its entrance and intervene in disputes involving outer disciples. 3
• Earthfire Hall — Its members fear Enforcement Hall interference; Heaven-Seizing Ancestor states that a previous disciple with a Medicinal-Scent Ghost was killed by Enforcement Hall members. 48 49
• Jade Finger Peak — The Hall avoids casually enforcing minor matters there because its Nascent Soul ancestor, Lin Ru, was formerly connected to an Enforcement Hall elder. 28
• Overlapping Peaks — Enforcement personnel were deployed there during the Hu Donghan case and later became known locally as the “Evil Ghosts on Overlapping Peaks.” 22 29
