Naruto’s forces fought the White Zetsu and reanimated shinobi while gaining allies and resources across the Land of Grass and the Land of Rivers. Madara challenged Naruto on the battlefield, but Kabuto withdrew him before the fight could be settled, leaving Naruto wary of a larger plan.

• Orochimaru escaped Kabuto’s takeover of Otogakure, joined Naruto’s efforts to study the pollution in the Land of Grass, and helped save civilians as the capital came under attack.
• Naruto stopped Deidara’s bomb and contained the Smilers, while Orochimaru explained how Kabuto’s Chaos Blessing spread the pollution through chakra connections.
• Kabuto revealed his White Zetsu army and reanimated shinobi, and Obito prepared a demonstration against Konoha as Naruto sent Sasuke to the battlefield.
• Sasuke and Naruto defeated the reanimated Third Raikage, while Gaara’s forces retreated from Sunagakure and Jiraiya and Sasori helped them survive the White Zetsu assault.
• General Quan seized power in the Land of Rivers, fought off Iwagakure and White Zetsu forces with Konoha weapons, and accepted Naruto’s terms to commit the country’s resources to the war.
• Sasuke sealed the reanimated Itachi after confronting him over the Uchiha massacre, while Kabuto revived Madara with Chaos Factor and a Warp Blessing.
• Madara devastated Quan’s forces, but Naruto arrived to save Quan and fought Madara until Kabuto took control of him and used Reverse Summoning to withdraw him and the White Zetsu army.
• Naruto told Sasuke he had not pursued Madara because Kabuto’s caution suggested that he had a larger plan.

Madara’s assault devastated Konoha, but Naruto used the village’s industrial weapons to stop him and then led its survivors into reconstruction. As Konoha sought the Dragon Vein to restore its power, Kabuto and Colonel Ka began maneuvering around Rōran, leaving a struggle over the resource imminent.

• Ōnoki accepted Kabuto’s proposal for a Five Kage Summit, and Naruto recognized the plan to lure him from Konoha before deciding to attend.
• Naruto attended the summit with Sasuke, while Colonel Ka revealed that the Dragon Vein beneath Rōran could power Naruto’s Titan Project.
• Madara attacked Konoha with a meteor, but Orochimaru revived Hashirama, Tobirama, and Minato, who helped the village repel it.
• Pain’s summoned beasts attacked Konoha as civilians and shinobi fought back, while Naruto and Sasuke confronted Kabuto’s reanimated fighters at the summit.
• Kabuto’s Chaos Infestation corrupted the reanimated fighters, but Naruto used White Zetsu shells to absorb the Chaos and clear the battlefield.

Naruto and Sasuke were pulled into the past and infiltrated Rōran, where Anrokuzan was draining its people to power a puppet army. With Minato and Sara, they prepared a direct attack on the reactor as mechanical spiders closed in.

• Hiruzen, Gaara, and Colonel Ka entered Rōran, fought its Chaos-corrupted defenses, and stopped Mukade’s collapse with Minato’s help, while Kabuto escaped with the Dragon Vein Seed.
• Naruto’s Dragon Vein radiation caused temporal distortions in Konoha, and a rift at Warehouse Three dragged Naruto and Sasuke into the past despite Minato’s attempt to stop it.
• Without access to chakra, Naruto and Sasuke joined a refugee caravan and reached Rōran, where Naruto entered the Core Maintenance Group and learned Anrokuzan was building Dragon Vein Warheads.
• Naruto rescued Sara from puppet guards, then met young Minato, who revealed that Anrokuzan was draining Rōran’s citizens to power his army.
• Naruto and Sasuke sabotaged the Seventh Fuel Refinery, destroying puppets and cooling towers to weaken the defenses around Anrokuzan’s reactor.
• Naruto stopped Sara from rushing into the extraction zone, and after Xiaoya died, he pressed Sara to accept her duty and the burden of ruling.
• Naruto, Sasuke, Sara, and Minato planned a direct assault on the reactor, but mechanical spiders arrived as Naruto lit the fuse on their improvised blasting tubes.
