Background / History

Herta Space Station and earlier journeys

Stelle’s earliest remembered experiences begin in a space station collection room. Researchers regularly wanted to examine her, and she became accustomed to cooperating with them. Herta’s interest in her stems from the Stellaron inside her body 120 203.

Before Penacony, she encountered another Stellaron on Jarilo-VI, hearing its voice and establishing a connection others could not perceive. Argenti describes meeting her aboard the Astral Express and finding someone who understood his convictions. By then, the Express had liberated a frozen planet and fought a Lord Ravager on the Xianzhou 54 120.

Sampo later retells her Jarilo-VI adventures at the Tavern, exaggerating her beauty, composure, and resourcefulness so heavily that Morien questions whether his description really fits Stelle 108.

Arrival in Penacony

Stelle enters Penacony’s dream by falling through the sky. She initially enjoys the sensation, then panics as the ground approaches. Morien catches her before impact, but she remains unsteady until Robin Tunes her dream body 120.

Morien is wearing Otto Apocalypse’s face when they meet. Stelle recognizes the appearance from Welt’s warning and sends their selfie to the Astral Express group chat. She interprets Welt’s instruction to “keep an eye on him” as permission to follow Morien, deciding that the first person encountered in a new destination must be a special guide with a secret 120.

At the Dreamscape Sales Store, she experiences a free Dream Bubble supposedly containing Akivili’s memories. Because the owner’s voice is missing, she supplies a male version of her own voice. Morien then persuades her to visit the nearby barbershop despite Welt’s request that she remain at the store 121.

The resulting makeover becomes part of Morien’s prank: he impersonates Otto while Stelle performs as Kevin. Welt recognizes the disguises, lightly strikes Stelle with his cane, and scolds her for helping outsiders deceive him. She apologizes, and he forgives her while warning her away from the Masked Fools 122.

Clockwork Trick and Sunday’s defeat

After escaping with Morien, Stelle rushes to help Firefly, who is cornered by Hound Family officers. Her intervention gets her treated as an accomplice. Clockie grants her Clockwork Trick, which she uses to make the officers become miserable and cry together. Firefly subsequently guides her around Golden Hour 123 124.

During the confrontation with Sunday’s Holy Child form, the Astral Express crew rejects his proposed severing of the Paths. Robin’s song interrupts his attempt to recreate paradise, and Stelle becomes the new Clockmaker. Her summoned, illusory Astral Express crashes into Sunday and defeats him 132.

Return to Herta Space Station

Aboard the Express, Stelle notices Morien’s mask changing from red to white. When he claims that Xipe has glanced at him, she believes him because she has received Aeon glances herself—including Harmony’s 200.

At Herta Space Station, Stelle becomes Morien’s guide, using her familiarity with the station and privileged access to take him through the Storage Zone and into Herta’s office. She encourages him to negotiate payment for testing the Simulated Universe and warns him not to accept food from Ruan Mei 201 203.

Appearance

Stelle is a tall young woman with gray hair and amber-gold eyes. Her usual appearance includes gray clothing and a short, tight skirt; a silent, blank expression can make her seem aloof 120 121 131.

  • Kevin-inspired dream disguise: Shoulder-length white hair, blue eyes, a predominantly black long coat, a low voice, and a cold, dignified demeanor 121 122.
  • Expressive mannerisms: Often plants her hands on her hips and proudly says “Hmph,” breaking the solemn impression of her disguise almost immediately 121 123.

Personality

Stelle is curious, outspoken, and eager to try unfamiliar experiences. She enjoys her dream-entry free fall before realizing its danger, immediately asks whether she can learn Morien’s direct mental speech, and enthusiastically experiments with a different-gender appearance 120 121.

She frequently frames experiences in game terms, asking about dialogue options, special NPCs, and an unlockable “gender-switching mode.” This outlook helps explain why she treats Morien as a destination guide rather than responding cautiously to Welt’s warning 120 121.

Her willingness to join a prank does not erase her concern for others. She initially refuses to make Welt search blindly because he would worry, apologizes when the performance goes too far, and intervenes when Firefly is threatened 120 122 123.

Stelle also distinguishes individuals from past threats. Despite dangerous encounters with insects, she warmly treats Morien’s juvenile Sting as her companion’s child rather than blaming it for other bugs’ actions. Later, she enjoys acting as Morien’s experienced senior after spending so long as the Express crew’s junior 203.

Abilities & Skills

Stellaron connection

Stelle carries a Stellaron and has previously communicated with another one on Jarilo-VI 120 203.

  • Hears the Jarilo-VI Stellaron’s voice when others cannot 120.
  • Initially mistakes Morien’s mental speech for evidence that he carries a Stellaron too 120.
  • Attracts Herta’s research interest because of the Stellaron within her 203.

Clockwork Trick

A Trailblaze-based ability granted by Clockie that uses Memoria to adjust and amplify emotions within Penacony’s dreamscape 123.

  • Makes pursuing Hound Family officers become depressed and cry together 123.
  • Allows her to see and communicate with Clockie clearly enough to translate his conversation for Morien, who perceives only a vague shadow 123.
  • Manipulates emotions; literal time reversal is Morien’s contrasting description, not a demonstrated capability of Stelle’s technique 123.

Clockmaker’s manifestation

As the new Clockmaker, Stelle summons an illusory Astral Express during Sunday’s final confrontation 132.

  • Delivers the decisive collision after Robin’s song disrupts Sunday 132.

Observation and exploration

  • Deduces that Otto is Morien’s disguise because he speaks aloud in that role but normally communicates without moving his mouth 123.
  • Knows Herta Space Station’s complicated layout exceptionally well from repeatedly exploring it 201.
  • Uses facial recognition clearance to enter restricted rooms, including the Curio storage room and Herta’s office 201 203.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Bat — Described as capable of vibrating at high speed 123.
  • Lance — Described as capable of heating up 123.
  • Phone — Uses the “Astral Express Family” group chat to contact Welt and share photographs and locations 120.
  • Mikhail’s blue hat — Quietly considers the hat after noticing Morien’s rainbow-like aura following Xipe’s gaze 200.

Relationships

  • Morien — Rescues her upon dream entry, becomes her guide and prank accomplice, and later receives her guidance at Herta Space Station. Their friendship mixes teasing with practical advice 120 122 123 201 203.
  • Welt Yang — Protective senior whom she calls “Uncle Yang.” Her participation in Morien’s prank frightens and frustrates him, but he forgives her apology 120 122.
  • March 7th — Fellow Express crewmate. March’s theory about the first person met in a new destination shapes Stelle’s interpretation of Morien 120 200.
  • Robin — Tunes Stelle’s dream body and later creates the opening for her final attack against Sunday 120 132.
  • Firefly — Stelle protects her from Hound Family officers; Firefly then gives her a tour of Golden Hour 123 124.
  • Clockie — Recognizes her spirit of Trailblaze and grants her Clockwork Trick 123.
  • Herta — Studies her Stellaron and grants her considerable freedom at the station, including access useful for escorting Morien 201 203.
  • Ruan Mei — Drugged Stelle through an offered pastry; one of her experimental insects later nearly blew Stelle up. Stelle consequently warns Morien against accepting her food 203.
  • Zhongshan — Acquaintance from the Xianzhou who performs her dream makeover while openly proposing an “acquaintance discount” that is actually an eleven-percent markup 121.

Trivia

  • Her fascination with trash cans is strong enough that Welt exposes an impersonator simply by mentioning an “absolutely amazing trash can” and observing her indifference 122.
  • The Rating Gun assigns her a score of 84, while it cannot rate Morien or March 7th 201.
  • By Chapter 200, she has received glances from three Aeons; Harmony is the only one named in that passage 200.
  • Her station privileges include vending-machine discounts; she buys a drink at half price while guiding Morien 201 203.
