Reincarnation and arrival in Alola

A later trial reveals that Xingye died in his original world and awakened in Alola with no possessions, identity, or clear purpose. He endured hunger, attacks from wild Pokémon, and homelessness before Slowking gave him food and shelter. Slowking’s encouragement ultimately shaped his decision to help Pokémon through Odd Jobs. 316

In Xingye’s first documented days in Alola, he and the memory-loss-afflicted Cyclizar survive on a deserted beach by gathering Berries. When Crabrawler attacks, Cyclizar protects him instinctively; Xingye realizes that, despite its amnesia, his new companion retains formidable battle instincts. 3

Kabukicho and Odd Jobs

While evading police attention in Hau’oli City, Xingye discovers the Drifter District, a neglected neighborhood populated largely by stray Pokémon. Cyclizar’s unexplained reaction to the district’s hostile presences foreshadows its hidden power. 6

Slowking and Cyclizar secure Xingye a vacant apartment above Slowking Izakaya. He cleans the space, teaches Cyclizar basic household habits, and begins treating the apartment as a home despite its lack of furniture. 7

After exposing Mihao’s abuse of Delphox and surviving the resulting confrontation, Xingye commits to creating an Odd Jobs business that can help Pokémon while supporting himself financially. He formally establishes Odd Jobs A-Xing with Cyclizar and Delphox’s assistance. 18 20 31

Xingye is blunt, pragmatic, and socially abrasive. He is accustomed to isolation, has little patience for appearances, and often responds to problems with sarcasm, provocation, or a direct plan rather than tact. His classmates initially interpret this behavior as cruelty or recklessness. 22 23
