Su Mu's words piqued Yue Guan's interest.
"What do you need us to do?"
Yue Guan was very cooperative.
"Uncle Yue, I know you often tend to flowers and plants. Do you have any books documenting them? I need to study them, since I'll need some of them when we go to those places."
Su Mu spoke very seriously.
"Books? Of course I have them. And since Xiao Mu needs them, Uncle Yue will definitely give them to you. Wait here for me."
Yue Guan immediately headed into his room and began searching for books that recorded Immortal Herbs.
Before long, Yue Guan returned with a thick book in hand and passed it to Su Mu.
"This is from my collection. Take a look. It records quite a few medicinal herbs that I've never seen before."
Yue Guan had read it several times before and had spent quite some time searching across the continent, yet he had never found the corresponding herbs.
It also recorded his own martial soul, the Singular Velvet Sky Chrysanthemum. If he could find it and consume it, his breakthrough to Titled Douluo would be accelerated.
"Thank you, Uncle Yue."
Su Mu examined it briefly before continuing, "Uncle Yue, Uncle Gui, wait for me at Spirit Hall's main gate. I'll go get the other two."
"Go ahead. Old Ghost and I will head over now."
Yue Guan nodded.
Su Mu and Bibi Dong left for Spirit Hall Academy.
Xie An and Hu Liena had long been prepared. The moment they saw Su Mu arrive, they immediately came over to greet him.
Seeing that the two were ready, Su Mu said nothing more and promptly led them to Spirit Hall's main gate to meet up with Yue Guan and Gui Mei.
A moment later, everyone had gathered. They boarded the prepared carriage and set off for Heaven Dou City.
During the journey, Su Mu began flipping through the book, studying the Immortal Herbs recorded within.
Su Mu had always had an excellent memory. The book contained many Immortal Herbs, including some he had never seen before.
No, nearly all Immortal Herbs grew at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. Most top-tier Immortal Herbs grew there.
No one disturbed him. Yue Guan chatted with Bibi Dong and the others instead.
Gui Mei, on the other hand, leaned against one side.
The carriage traveled for a long time before finally coming to a stop.
"We've arrived at Heaven Dou City."
Upon hearing that, everyone got out of the carriage.
"Uncle Yue, do you know where Dugu Bo is?"
Su Mu asked.
"I do. That Poison Old Man's residence is rather particular."
Yue Guan smiled, signaling that they could leave it to him.
Before long, they arrived outside an estate.
"Should we knock?"
Did Bibi Dong not know that knocking meant someone would answer?
"Knock?"
"If we really knock, that Poison Old Man won't open the door for us at all."
Yue Guan shook his head, rejecting Bibi Dong's suggestion.
Under everyone's gaze, Yue Guan walked up to the entrance and kicked Dugu Bo's front gate open with one foot.
The doors flew away, revealing the scene within.
Dugu Bo, his beard and hair tinged dark green, was resting in a chair.
Hearing the gate being kicked open,
he opened his eyes. His dark green vertical pupils, like those of a venomous snake, stared at the people by the entrance.
"Yue Guan, you sissy, and you kicked down my gate!"
Dugu Bo was furious.
"Poison Old Man, watch your mouth."
Yue Guan snorted coldly.
Just as the two were about to continue arguing, Su Mu stepped forward. "Both of you, shut up."
Yue Guan closed his mouth. Dugu Bo recognized Su Mu and held great respect for him.
That was because Su Mu had done far too much, saving many soul masters and ordinary civilians.
"Su Mu, you are a support-type soul master, and I respect you. But that doesn't mean you can barge into my residence whenever you please."
Dugu Bo's tone softened somewhat.
Yue Guan wanted to retort, but he held himself back.
"Dugu Bo, I came to invite you to join Spirit Hall and to have your son enroll in Spirit Hall Academy to participate in the Soul Master Tournament."
Su Mu first stated his purpose.
As expected, Dugu Bo refused.
"I'm sorry, but I cannot agree to this."
Su Mu had expected that. He continued, "What if I can remove the poison in your body?"
The instant those words fell, Dugu Bo's body stiffened slightly, though he quickly recovered.
Before Dugu Bo could answer,
Su Mu pressed his advantage.
"When the Jade Phosphor Poison flares up, your entire body must convulse violently beyond your control. Your complexion turns blue-white, while faint jade-green poison marks emerge beneath your skin."
"Your eyes become bloodshot, your pupils take on an eerie jade-green hue, and cold sweat seeps from your forehead. Your meridians are torn apart by the poison, your entire body feels as though countless ants are gnawing at it, and you endure piercing agony as your breath rises and falls chaotically."
Su Mu finished the entire description in one breath.
Dugu Bo was rendered speechless.
He got it right! Every single detail!
Dugu Bo stared in astonishment. How could Su Mu understand it so thoroughly?
"Senior Brother is amazing."
Bibi Dong could hardly believe it.
"Poison Old Man plays with poison, yet he poisoned himself? The Jade Phosphor Poison comes from the Jade-Scaled Snake, doesn't it?"
Yue Guan clicked his tongue in wonder.
He had never expected that someone who played with poison his whole life would ultimately be poisoned himself.
If the Dugu Family had dwindled to the point where only Dugu Bo and his son Dugu Xin remained,
then the Jade-Scaled Snake soul masters of previous generations must have all suffered because of the Jade Phosphor Poison, and none of them had been able to completely eradicate it.
If that was the case, then it made sense.
He had met Dugu Xin. His hair was black, while Dugu Bo's was dark green. That meant the Jade Phosphor Poison became more potent as one's cultivation gradually increased.
Then Dugu Bo's talent must have been among the best in the Dugu Family's history.
Otherwise, he might not even have lived until now.
"Your Highness Su Mu, please save my Dugu Family."
Dugu Bo put away his previous bearing, immediately clasped his fists, and dropped to one knee, asking Su Mu for help.
His reaction was so great for two reasons. First, Su Mu's Wish Angel martial soul possessed truly formidable healing abilities.
Second, since Su Mu could describe the symptoms after his poisoning in such detail, he must have a way to treat it.
"Oh, my, Poison Old Man. Has the sun risen in the west? You actually know how to ask someone for help?"
Yue Guan said mockingly.
"What do you know?"
Dugu Bo replied irritably.
"I can cure your poison."
Su Mu said calmly.
"I believe in Your Highness Su Mu. My son and I are willing to join Spirit Hall," Dugu Bo said solemnly.
"Since you're willing to join, get up."
Su Mu helped Dugu Bo to his feet.
"That settled it?" Bibi Dong said. "Uncle Yue, it wasn't as difficult as you said."
"My little Highness, you don't know what Poison Old Man was like when Old Ghost and I dealt with him before."
"His attitude changed so drastically only because Xiao Mu is here, isn't that right?"
Yue Guan made a point of correcting her.
If he had been the one to say what Su Mu had just said, Dugu Bo might have hesitated and would not have so decisively dropped to one knee to beg Su Mu to treat him.
"Where is your son?" Su Mu suddenly asked.
"He's in the rear courtyard. I'll call him over right away."
Dugu Bo immediately shouted toward the rear courtyard.
"Dugu Xin, get to the front courtyard, now!"
