Background

Ancient herbological texts record Immortal Herbs, though Yue Guan had searched for many of the plants in his reference book without ever finding them. His collection included an entry for the Singular Velvet Sky Chrysanthemum, an herb matching his martial soul and capable of accelerating his breakthrough to Titled Douluo 10.

Su Mu located a large collection of Immortal Herbs at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well in Sunset Forest. The valley’s dual crimson-hot and icy-blue springs create an extraordinary environment for their growth 11.

Rather than reserving the herbs for himself, Su Mu matched specimens to his companions’ martial souls, bottlenecks, poison afflictions, and cultivation needs. Their absorption transformed several Spirit Hall members’ strength and future potential 11 14 15.

Properties and Handling

• Immortal Herbs contain immense medicinal and Soul Power; compatible recipients may experience major cultivation breakthroughs, martial-soul evolution, or enhanced source power 11 14.
• An herb’s effects depend heavily on compatibility. Su Mu selected each specimen according to the recipient’s martial soul or condition 11 12 14.
• Simultaneous absorption can be dangerous. Bibi Dong lost consciousness after consuming two herbs, though their energies ultimately stabilized within her body 12.
• Su Mu delayed his own absorption until others had finished so that he could respond to unexpected danger 13.
• The Octagonal Mysterious Ice Grass and Infernal Delicate Apricot contain extreme ice and fire poisons. Either herb is unsafe alone; Su Mu consumed both together and entered the cold pool for body tempering, while the Life Goddess neutralized their poisons 14.
• Once the Ice Grass and Delicate Apricot are picked, they retain their effect for only ten breaths 14.
