Mephisto looked at Baal thoughtfully. What he meant was clear.
"That's right. The power of death!"
"I need Asmodeus's Undead power. This force runs completely counter to the Universe. Paired with the cutting edge of Destruction, it can strengthen us even further!"
"Undead power should never have existed in this Universe. Asmodeus has already pushed its use to the limit, but that is nowhere near enough. I'm certain he has yet to elevate it or explore many of its applications. Merely wielding Death Power falls far short!"
"I need that power to establish the Fifth Legion and improve our chances of surviving the great destruction to come!"
Baal delighted in destruction, but he had no desire to be destroyed.
To give himself a better chance of surviving the future, he had to strengthen himself as quickly as possible.
Asmodeus had been stripped even of his Authority, losing his place among the Thirteen Ancient Devil Masters. He and the Death Power he controlled had become Baal's chief target for further growth.
"Death Power?"
"If we could obtain that power, perhaps we truly wouldn't have to fear death!"
"Death Power woven into Void, Creation and Void. Void and death, Destruction and Ruin, Fear and Time and Space... I can hardly wait to see what power we Three Demon Gods would wield then!"
Information about Death Power surfaced in Mephisto's mind, drawing one reflection after another from him.
"But it's still too early for all that. Taking the Demigod Realm as quickly as possible is what matters now. Look—our four great legions have begun to move. The Demon Kings can't hold themselves back any longer!"
"My girl Crocia is there too. Look, Mephisto, your Agatha has appeared!"
