The ANBU squads around the docks sprang into action, establishing a five-hundred-meter perimeter and clearing everyone uninvolved from the port.

A Hidden Mist speedboat carried Sōji, the Raikage, and a handful of attendants away from the main harbor toward an uninhabited islet to the southwest.

Aboard the boat, Mei Terumi, Ao, Dodai, and the others sat in the cabin without speaking. The atmosphere was uneasy.

Karin sat by the gunwale, her palms slick with sweat as she chewed the same piece of orange-flavored candy over and over.

The island was a small, barren mass of volcanic rock, no more than a kilometer from north to south. Nothing grew there. Only blackened stone and scattered sea-eroded pillars broke the surface.

Waves burst into white foam around the shore. The engine had already startled most of the seabirds into flight, leaving a few circling overhead with shrill cries.

The two men took their places on a rocky platform at the island's center, thirty paces apart.

Sōji slowly slipped off his Divine Robe and tied it around his waist. The sea breeze pressed his fitted black combat clothes against his lean frame, and his long silver-white hair was bound behind his head.

With the black cloth removed, his Six Eyes shone like stars. The golden rune on the back of his right hand glimmered beneath nearly translucent skin, while something seemed to swim within the shadow at his feet.

The Fourth Raikage simply rolled his shoulders.

Lightning Release Chakra already covered him like a suit of crackling armor. Arcs of electricity snapped around his body, blasting tiny chips of rock from beneath his feet.

Lightning Armor was more than a Lightning Release Chakra mode. It compressed Lightning Release Chakra to an extreme degree before projecting it outward
