In the mountains north of Striaton City, Hu Yang and Cross were examining a string of mysterious footprints on the ground as they tracked a mysterious Pokémon.
The prints were broad and thick, looking like they had been left by some large feline Pokémon.
They stretched from the riverbank deep into the forest, occasionally disappearing along the way before quickly reappearing in another direction.
"This Pokémon doesn't seem to be native to Unova," Cross speculated as he studied the shape of the tracks.
Hu Yang crouched down. As far as he remembered, there were indeed no cat-related Pokémon native to Unova, much less one that left tracks resembling those of a large cat.
If he hadn't been in the Pokémon world, Hu Yang would have assumed a tiger had left them behind.
They had discovered these tracks in the forest three days ago and had followed them while passing through.
At the time, a thunderstorm had swept through the forest, turning the ground muddy. It was easy to leave footprints while walking on it.
Judging by how dry the soil was, these tracks should have been left two days ago.
"The tracks lead toward Striaton City. We can investigate along the way," Hu Yang thought.
