Scarlet Rampage

The purple energy beam, like a colossal spear brimming with destructive force, tore through the air with a piercing shriek, bearing down on the three of them with suffocating pressure.

Veins bulged across Wanda's pale face as she bit her lower lip until blood seeped out. Her hands trembled violently before she thrust them forward. In an instant, Chaos Energy around her erupted like boiling magma bursting through the earth, surging madly as it condensed into a massive shield covered in crimson patterns before her. The energy vortex swirling across its surface resembled an enraged eye as it crashed head-on into the purple beam.

In that instant, a blinding flash erupted in the warehouse, followed by an ear-splitting explosion like a thunderclap. The blast wave threw Li and Gwen to the ground. Li's back slammed heavily into a cold metal rack, and the wounds beneath his modified suit were scraped raw and bloody. The agony made his vision darken, and a metallic sweetness rose in his throat. Yet he had no time to check his injuries. Driven by a fierce instinct to survive and worry for his companions, he struggled to lift his head and look toward Wanda.

Wanda was swaying under the collision of two world-destroying forces. Her hair stood on end from static electricity, spreading wildly like thorns. The out-of-control scarlet energy was like a runaway horse, ravaging everything around her. Nearby mechanical creatures were crushed beneath it, their metal shells twisting out of shape as parts flew everywhere, letting out shrieks of tortured metal.

"Wanda! Hold on!" Gwen wiped away the blood shaken from the corner of her mouth by the blast. Her palm scraped a long gash across the rough ground, but she did not notice. She snatched up the sonic emitter and was about to rush over to help when she saw in horror that the light in Wanda's eyes was gradually being replaced by madness and murkiness. The energy shield that had protected them began to warp grotesquely, like a savage beast awakening and turning its fangs toward the three of them.

Li's bloodshot eyes widened, his heart hammering in his chest as intense unease shrouded his mind like dark clouds. "This is bad! Her power is out of control!" Forcing his nearly broken body to move, he shouted at Gwen with all his strength, "Get out of the way!"

Before his words faded, the uncontrolled Chaos Energy surged toward them like a breached flood. Relying on the agility forged through long training, Gwen twisted and rolled aside, narrowly evading the direct blast. The ground behind her was instantly blasted into a massive, bottomless crater under the energy's erosion, sending rubble flying. Li was not fast enough. The shockwave struck him, hurling him away like a kite with its string cut, and he crashed heavily beside a control console covered in buttons and screens. His body curled up like a shrimp from the impact, and blood burst uncontrollably from his mouth, staining the floor red.

Seeing this, MODOK let out a chilling, maniacal laugh beneath his helmet. His voice warped through the loudspeakers and echoed through the warehouse. "Let this uncontrolled power be the death knell for you all!" His withered fingers rapidly tapped across the control panel. Taking advantage of Wanda's loss of reason, he controlled countless mechanical arms that coiled toward the three of them like venomous snakes. Scalding steam sprayed from their joints, while the claws at their tips gleamed with cold, sinister light.

Wanda's consciousness was plunging into a chaotic abyss. Horrifying visions flashed through her mind: skyscrapers collapsing beneath the iron march of a mechanical army, throwing up dust that blotted out the sky; people fleeing in terror through the streets, their desperate cries intertwining with the roar of machinery into a symphony of apocalypse.

Those visions struck her nerves again and again like heavy hammers, making the power within her even more violent. She unconsciously waved her hands, releasing even more Chaos Energy. Wherever it passed, mechanical creatures were torn to pieces, while cracks began to spread across the warehouse's sturdy reinforced concrete walls like a spiderweb on the verge of shattering.

Gwen crouched behind a relatively intact metal rack, staring at the frenzied Wanda as her nails dug deeply into her palms. She knew that if they did not wake Wanda soon, not only would all three of them die, but this uncontrolled power could spread throughout the entire area. Gritting her teeth, she ignored the falling debris around her and rushed toward Li.

"Li! We need to find a way to bring Wanda back to her senses!" Gwen forcefully helped the weakened Li up. She could feel his body trembling slightly and knew he was enduring terrible pain.

Li wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, but his eyes remained resolute. "Wanda's magic is closely tied to her emotions. Maybe we can use emotional resonance to pull her back!" He looked toward the out-of-control Wanda, memories of the three of them in the club activity room flashing through his mind: Gwen's face smeared with engine oil as she focused on modifying equipment, Wanda's exhausted yet satisfied smile after using magic, and their cheers of accomplishment when they successfully completed the Mechanical Flower. "We've been through so much together. She'll hear our voices!"

The two exchanged a glance, their eyes conveying a determination to face death, before gathering their courage and walking toward Wanda. Violent energy vortices swirled around her, warping the air wherever they passed and producing teeth-grinding tearing sounds. Approaching her was like nearing an active volcano on the verge of eruption, with heat and danger rushing straight at them.

Gwen raised the sonic emitter, adjusted it to a stable frequency, and fired. The sound waves struggled through the energy vortex, attempting to disrupt the violent energy around Wanda and clear a path for them. Li focused his mind. His voice was hoarse from pain, but every word carried deep emotion and determination. "Wanda! Do you remember how happy we were when we completed the Mechanical Flower together? We're partners. We're the most important people in each other's lives! Come back!"

At the center of the energy vortex, within Wanda's chaotic consciousness, Li and Gwen's voices were like a lighthouse piercing through thick fog—faint, yet unwavering. Her movements as she wielded the energy paused slightly, and a trace of confusion and struggle flickered in her eyes, as though she had glimpsed a sliver of light in the darkness. But soon, even stronger visions crashed into her mind like a tide. She let out a pained howl, raised both hands, and prepared to unleash energy powerful enough to destroy everything.

At that critical moment, Li and Gwen finally reached Wanda. Without hesitation, Li threw his arms around her and held her tightly. The raging energy sliced across his skin like sharp blades, carving wound after wound as blood instantly soaked through his clothes. Yet he seemed not to notice, only holding Wanda tighter. "We won't give up on you! Wanda, come back!" Gwen shouted beside them as well, her voice choked with tears. "Wake up! We need you! Without you, our team isn't whole!"

Wanda's body trembled violently in Li's arms as two forces collided madly inside her. The energy storm in the warehouse reached its peak. Chunks of concrete fell from the ceiling like rain, enormous cracks split across the floor, and a faint scarlet glow flickered within them. Seeing that things had turned against him, MODOK cursed and quickly activated his flying craft to escape.
