In the end, Werther's curiosity went unsatisfied, and he came away with several new bite marks on his hands.

Anita had somehow unlocked the skill of biting people. She seemed to be pretty good at it, too.

Werther lay on a deck chair, sipping juice as he asked Tuski curiously,

"Tuski, don't you want to know what kind of fruit that is? If it's a Rabbit-Rabbit Fruit, Anita might be able to talk to you directly. What do you say we team up?"

Tuski looked torn. He wasn't particularly curious about the fruit, but the chance to talk directly with Anita was tempting.

"Tuski, don't listen to that damned baldy. We can talk with our minds." Anita tapped Tuski's forehead with one of her slender, pale fingers.

Tuski promptly "betrayed" Werther and sided with Anita.

Seeing them join forces again, Werther could only give up.

"Damned baldy, I want seafood pasta tonight, okay?" Anita ran over to Werther, grinning triumphantly.

"Uh, sure. There's still some good seafood in the tank. I'll cook it up later. Pasta sounds like a good idea.

"Tuski, what do you want for dinner?"

Tuski pointed at Anita, meaning he wanted the same thing. Werther nodded and went to catch some seafood.

The seafood tank was at the very stern of Werther's ship. It was built into the hull and stood about as tall as the second level of the cabin, but it was separate from the living quarters. Werther had no desire to sleep in a room full of seafood.

He had no intention of getting into the water, so he grabbed a net and scooped up whatever he could. He hadn't had anything particular in mind anyway.

After a busy evening and a dinner cooked by Werther, everyone returned to their rooms to rest.
