Werther lay quietly on the deck, enjoying the morning sun and the relief of having survived.
He had made it out of that stretch of sea.
But by the time he escaped, the sky was already growing pale.
He had collapsed on the deck and hadn't wanted to move. He was utterly exhausted.
After fumbling around his chest, Werther finally found the rope from yesterday. He untied it and looked down at Anita.
The girl had fallen asleep against his chest. Werther left her there; he was too tired to do anything but sleep.
After resting all morning, Werther finally recovered his energy. Anita, unusually well-behaved, was still lying on his chest.
Tuski had been busy too. It had to steer the ship and check its equipment and supplies for damage.
After a morning of inspections, Tuski found no serious damage to the ship. Quite a few works of art had broken, but neither it nor Werther cared much about those.
Once Werther woke, he decided to wake Anita as well. He had other things to handle and couldn't let her lie on his chest forever.
"Anita, wake up. Come on, we're safe."
"Ugh, leave me alone, you stupid baldy. Let me sleep." Seeing her like this, Werther could only carry her back to her bedroom and let her sleep.
Werther then went to the Control Room to check on the ship.
After asking Tuski about the ship's condition, Werther learned that it was mostly fine. But another serious problem had come up.
They were lost at sea. Every compass needle was quivering wildly and constantly changing direction. They could no longer use them to find their bearings.
That was a serious problem. They could manage for a while, but if it continued until their food and water ran out,
