"Tuski, what exactly is this 'Virus'? Ever since we got here, I've felt the disgusting stuff everywhere. The air is full of it. If I hadn't increased the Lightning output inside my body, I might have been 'infected' too."
Tuski shook his head and wrote Werther a note.
"I don't know what this 'Virus' is either. All I can say for certain is that it's extremely tiny and highly corrosive.
"When I treated Anita just now, I realized it probably isn't a Virus. It's more like an extremely tiny Spores that attacks cells. Someone infected by these Spores wouldn't die on the spot, but given enough time, they might. The Spores are destructive."
Werther immediately grasped how serious the problem was. Spores floating in the air like this were a nightmare for living creatures.
If Werther's Lightning ability hadn't been able to counter the Spores, or Tuski's fur ability hadn't been able to make him a protective suit, they would have been in danger today.
Werther no longer thought this stretch of sea was necessarily any safer than the storm. Pale Red-Haired water, air full of spores that ate away at cells—it looked like a place no living person should enter.
After being awake for a while, Anita slowly regained her strength. Her face was no longer as pale as before.
"Then, Tuski, could these Spores be the legendary curse? Everyone who comes here gets infected, and eventually the Spores destroy so many of their cells that they die?"
The little girl was no longer particularly frightened. She had been scared of Demons and curses, but now that she knew it was a kind of deadly Spores, she wasn't afraid anymore.
"Yeah, that's very possible. We need to pick up speed. If these spores stay in the air, even eating
