After Werther and Tuski both collapsed, Anita took care of them. She kept an eye on their surroundings and checked now and then to make sure they were still breathing.

The little girl had been terrified. It was the first time she had seen Werther fight with such abandon—though she had caught a glimpse of it at the Marines' secret research base.

But back then, she had been on the opposing side, too frightened to notice much else.

After a night's rest, Werther and Tuski had more or less recovered.

Tuski had simply exhausted himself. Werther's condition was more serious. Tuski had stitched up most of his wounds, but his internal injuries still needed time to heal.

Thanks to the stitches from Holy Healing Thread, though, his injuries healed dozens of times faster than they would have naturally.

When Werther woke that morning, he felt only a slight pain in his chest. Otherwise, he was fine.

"Ahhh, yesterday's fight felt great! It's been ages since I met an opponent that strong. What about you, Tuski?"

Tuski gave him a speechless look that seemed to say, There's no saving him.

"Great, my foot! You wrecked half the forest. This place used to be beautiful, and now there are sword cuts and craters everywhere. Have you thought about how anyone passing through this Island will feel?"

Anita was glad to see Werther and Tuski back on their feet, but that did not stop her from laying into Werther.

"Hmph. A little brat like you could never understand the thrill of a fight. Forget it. You wouldn't get it even if I explained. I'm going to deal with that Black Dragon first."

Werther stepped out of the white house and signaled for Tuski to dispel the barrier.
