Werther's eyes widened slightly at Koala's words, then understanding dawned on him.
"Ah, I know. Once I heard your information, a few things clicked. It must be her. There's no mistake."
Koala breathed a sigh of relief on the other end of the Den Den Mushi. She had already received Kuma's report, and only then had she learned how strong Werther really was.
Their original plan had been for Kuma and Werther to work together: Werther would hold off the Admiral while Kuma sent Luffy and the others to safety.
But she had never expected Werther's fight with Kizaru to nearly sink Groves 1 of the Sabaody Archipelago.
"In that case, we've completed another successful deal. We can work together again in the future."
"We'll talk about the future when it comes."
Werther said goodbye to Koala and hung up the Den Den Mushi.
He tossed it back into his Pocket Watch and lay back on the bed.
"To think you're my little sister. I wonder if you'll be surprised when you see me."
Werther couldn't help smiling at the thought. Slowly, he drifted off to sleep.
The next morning, Werther had barely woken when a Den Den Mushi began to ring. After taking off his shoes the night before, he had fallen straight asleep on the bed.
Still groggy, he fished a Den Den Mushi out of his Pocket Watch and answered without checking which one it was.
"Who is it? Waking someone up this early is terrible manners."
The caller was plainly taken aback.
"Fufufufufu! Werther, it's already ten. I didn't expect you to still be asleep."
At the sound of that distinctive laugh, Werther paused and gradually came to his senses.
"Doffy? Calling first thing in the morning? I was wondering who it was. I was just
